Barnsley's first two home games have been exciting and terrifying at the same time. Watching the games we are brilliant going forward but caught out of position too many times at the back, like someone said on the forum last night a better team and we might end up on a 6/7 nil drumming.

Thinking about the formation we say its 4-5-1 but to me actually looks like 4-1-4-1

    Davies
    McCarthy Mcdonald Jackson Pearson
    Williams
    Hammil Moncur Potts Hedges
    Bradshaw

We have all been saying that Potts isn't looking upto speed yet anyway, so I think with McGeehan/signing of Lowe and changing the formation to 4 2 3 1 and we would look still exciting going forward but abit more secure at the back.

    Davies
    McCarthy Mcdonald Jackson Pearson
    Williams McGeehan/Lowe
    Hammill Moncur Hedges
    Bradshaw

    Thoughts?

Agree. The two sitting midfielders will cover whichever winger is attacking, leaving the second to cover any breaks through central midfield.

At the moment Williams is having to cover the winger and also any breaks through the centre. Bloke did incredibly well to effectively cover two positions. No wonder he was crackered!
