Is he in the frame do we reckon.? https://the72.co.uk/149082/former-l...job-a-week-after-leaving-premier-league-role/
Cheap option to appease short sighted fans. The owners think we’re all thick and this will win us over I bet. His status is collateral to them. Will break my heart when he’s turned on after a run of losses. It’s not even his fault- we simply will not compete in this league under these owners.
From what he's done it's clear he's a very good coach, but so far not in a head coach/manager role. Did well with the Leeds youth team, and we've several of them here plus many others. I'm not exactly seeing a host of other options or a stand out candidate... He's my favourite player and I'd like to see him back, just not sacked as head coaches inevitably are...
Unfortunately he’s not qualified and although people will start with “well, neither was ............”, he’s no more qualified than what we already have in the club
Am sure McGeehan would benefit from Redders at the club, but we only seem to shop in Austria in the main.
If i had the choice of an unknown bloke from the continent whos done very little or a club legend who has equally done very little in management but knows the club, town etc it would be the club legend every time. Its not like were going after a proven manager.
While I understand this and find myself nodding, I just couldn't cope with hearing criticism shouted down from the stands at someone I hold in such high regard. And his inevitable sacking would break my heart. I'm not suggesting he'd be crap, I just think it impossible to achieve any kind of success under the strict recruitment and sales model in which we operate. The treatment of Danny Wilson second time around I found appalling. I don't want to have to go through that again. I'm of the opinion that role of Head Coach is largely irrelevant. If they're crap they'll be sacked. If they're doing well they'll have their best players sold from beneath them to be replaced by kids who they've had no input in identifying. Results will suffer and they'll be sacked. I would prefer this poisoned chalice to be offered to someone I don't care about.
To be honest, when Daniel Stendel was appointed I'd never heard of him and, to use your words, I didn't really care about him. I suppose there was a tiny connection because he's German, as is my wife, and I speak his language, but beyond that there was no connection at all. However, when the club separated from him, I was close to tears for days. Embarrassing, I know, but that's just how it was. I can't imagine what I would feel like if Neil Redfearn was appointed, and then eventually had to separate from us.
Don’t do it Neil unless of course they have promised you the experienced players that you said we needed last month.
I appreciate what you’re saying but Wilson is an ideal example of sentiment over logic. The majority of us were willing him the absolute best of luck the 2nd time around but the game had moved on and left his tactics behind unfortunately. Apart from sentiment, there’s no real logic in putting redfearn in the hot seat in my opinion.
