I've been having a gander at their forum, and they're not confident. Sounds like they've several players missing, and their record at Oakwell isn't great, although they did beat us 6-0 recently. I'm cautiously optimistic about this one. On our day we can beat anyone in this division, but our unbeaten home record run is there to be stopped, and that makes me a bit wary. I'm going for 3-1 to the reds. Woodrow, Moore and McGeehan. Link to their forum http://intothevalley.proboards.com/thread/23157/barnsley-charlton-match-thread-reaction
That 6 nil still baffles me today. Literally every single chance they had they scored, and their defenders/keeper blocked or saved every one of ours. A true fluke of a result. 1-1 tomorrow.
Draw would suit them as it would keep them above us. Ideally a win for us and anything but a win for Luton at Walsall. That would set up the Luton game nicely.
a bit like the game... Barnsley 7 Huddersfield 1... and THAT volley by Darren Barnard. I have was there and was breathless, have since watched it back and feel that Huddersfield did play quite well, but everything we touched that night turned to gold.
Not really, otherwise we'd have been about 13-0 up at half-time, such was the dominance. Sean McClare missed a hat-trick of chances before we'd even got going. I've never seen a more one-sided 45 minutes of football.
McClair missed three absolute sitters that game and we also missed a penalty. Couldn't help but think we'd missed out on setting a new club record that night.
3-0 to us. Reckon I could be wrong though because we usually have around 20 shots a game, so if we start taking our chances we will give someone a well deserved cricket score soon, for our biggest win of the season.
I have a sneaky feeling that tomorrow will be the day that we actually carry out what we have been threatening for the last few weeks, and inflict a heavy defeat on them: well, that’s what I’m hoping anyway
After getting it wrong last week... I will go 2..1to the reds.. Although I reckon they will score first .. 35th minute them 74th and 81st us
