http://www.soccerbase.com/referees/referee.sd?referee_id=1070 Only reffered 30 games but his first yellow today will be his 100th of the season. Sent off Marley Watkins when we lost 5-2 to Forest. Went on a run of handing out five red cards in just six games. One game he handed out NINE yellow cards and in another four he's handed out six. 22 yellow cards in just his last handful of games. Looks like the kind of ref we are used to getting.....Cards market could be money to be made going whatever the 'over' amount is. Our poor disciplinary record is going to be put to the test today.
Wasn't the ref against Wolves a new ref too? I hope today's ref is infinitely better than the clown we had on Tuesday.
It would be a Momentous achievement to get much worse. Sounds like this ref is card happy. Wonder if there any odds that it is a Reds player who becomes his milestone card. I can see it now after numerous fouls and a couple of talking to a Preston player finally gets booked, but not before Josh Scowen gets booked for a nothing of a challenge which is his first offence. Mark my words.
It is so sad and yet relevant, to now be checking out refs BEFORE the match. The used to say you could judge an official's performance by how little you spoke of them, now its everything....lets hope he doesn't ruin it like the Wolves game and several others (actually the majority).
Best thing to counteract is to get our fouls in first instead of waiting for opposition that way when they foul they'll go straight in book , simples . I think !!
Better than most this season but still not saying much. Went an hour without a booking but still managed to fit in his customary five. At least only one was for us.
Bottled the customary sending off as well Pearson should have had a second yellow in injury time. In all fairness the 4 yellows they got were all clear yellows and once he decided Scowen had taken their guy out (incorrectly) then he was always going to give a yellow at least he didn't give them the usual soft penalty when their guy flung himself to the floor after getting ahead of Roberts we've had a lot worse refs this season
I thought he was utter tripe like the rest of them. He warned Ben Pearson about 5 times fir chelping but still took 80 minutes to book him and failed to book him for his numerous fouls and then as youmsay failed to send him off for a blatent red card. He saw a clear dive by one of their players but failed to card him. He should be banned from awarding a corner ever gain because he clearly doesn't know how to officiate them. I thought he was crazy, the only difference between him and some there is that he had no big decisions to make so couldn't get any wrong. That said I though it was a stonewall penalty against Roberts and so did everyone around me
