Was impressed with him yesterday to say it was his debut, decent 1st half, faded 2nd half. Hopefully a decent future with us.

Not heard of him till yesterday. Has he come through the ranks or did we sign him up?

Yeah I was really impressed too, showed for the ball and never shied away from the action.

I was sceptical before the game but I feel Struber has this bang on. There’s no better way to introduce a player into the squad than when there’s no crowd.

i think this no crowd could work to our squads advantage, you've got the pressure and stress of playing in the 1st team but with the added bonus of no crowd toget on your back at the slightest ckoc up, basically 1st team football on the training ground

I thought he had a good 1st half I was impressed with him and simoes 1st half 20 and 21 years old think both especially simoes have a bright future.

Delighted to see another young lad breaking through. Can’t judge his performance as I only managed to get it on for the second half.

I do find it strange that he’s bypassed Thomas, Styles, Bahre & Dougall in 3 months where we’ve not kicked a ball but Struber does make some surprising team selections so I guess it’s not that strange.

If he was a striker he'd be a fox in the box.
He must never desert his post.
He'd play better on a sandy pitch.
Wonder if he has a Wall looking across the Atlantic?

I think Jedi one makes a valid point here about blooding the young ‘uns without the pressure of a live crowd. They won’t feel the pressure of an early mistake and can just concentrate on the game and the info that’s being fed to them.

He’s a strange one Palmer. Been at the club a few years, now 21 years old & just making his first start after getting a new long term contract. I guess players develop at different ages but it does make you wonder if they had worries about his confidence & playing in front of a crowd

Romal Palmer also said in his interview that the atmosphere was a bit like an U23 game so they'd be used to it. I wouldn't be surprised if just this had given us the extra boost in the first ten minutes that turned out to be the difference - could have been a stroke of genius by Struber.

From what I have read on the website both Palmer and Wolfe are highly rated but both have suffered injury setbacks which have slowed down their development, otherwise they would have been in the team before

I’ve just never really heard much of Palmer. I’ve heard plenty of people rating Wolfe & other youngsters who’ve left the club since Palmer first joined us.

6 months ago I would’ve probably looked at him & thought ‘20/21, never made the first team, no one seems to rate so him he’ll be released next summer’.

Seems like some great work is been done in the U23’s with Devaney coaching & Hassell recruiting
