To be fair he means the metrodome as a sporting arena. He has been acting crackers even for him recently. Been doing all his interviews with a Australian accent.
With his money he doesn't have to. Can't see the metrodome is any worse than other qualifying arenas but there you go.
He never said that...... https://metro.co.uk/2019/03/05/ronn...ves-cannock-barnsley-leisure-centres-8821252/ He said he wouldn't play at leisure centres like Barnsley again, but it wasnt Barnsley he was calling a dive. He's got a point too. I watched him beat Kyren Wilson in the English Open final at the Metrodome and whilst it's decent enough for the paying public, it is silly having a major TV sporting event there. It's great for the venue and town and I wish it had been given a permanent home there for the tournament. But it was very small and cramped.
Yep, my mate said that he would stop touring so much so he wouldn't have to come to **** holes like Barnsley, Fu@k you Ronnie, we welcome you with open arms & this is how you respond. Never come back, we don't need you....******.
It docent matter what anyone thinks of Barnsley. I’ve been around Nottingham, Sheffield and Leeds over the last few weeks. Brilliant cities. Which makes Barnsley look like a dump in comparison. But Barnsley is my town - it might be a dump - but as nice as those cities are - I feel more at home on Market Hill than anywhere else.
He didn't call Barnsley a **** hole. Or a dive. He was talking about the venue itself, and let's face it, right now, he's on a rant every day.
He's talking about venues not towns or cities. And he's got a point. The metrodome is a place to go swimming or to the gym, not host a snooker tournament. This is the Preston Guild Hall where he's just played I'm sure you can see where he's coming from. Preston is nowt of a place (well it's just ordinary like Barnsley), but that theatre is. He wants to show off his talents in a building worthy of hosting such talent, where the audience sit in comfort in fabulous surroundings, not in a leisure centre. There's nowt wrong with the Metrodome as a leisure centre, it's a good one. There's nowt wrong with Barnsley, it's a decent town. O'Sullivan wasn't saying anything to the contrary. He just wants the game he loves played in venues that befit the skill the competitors are displaying. Good for him. I want to see Barnsley play at Oakwell, not Woolley Miners Welfare.
I can see his point but the best footballers have to play in **** venues sometimes in the FA cup. He could have praised the Guildhall without slagging other places off!
Pretty sure when he said it, it was after he had played at another Leisure Centre down south and the Snooker players were interrupted by Bowls players walking through whilst playing to access their green
