I could have gone today but decided not to. Wish I had! The Lanks are 85 for 4 needing another 145 to win this one. Yorkshire desperately need to get the victory otherwise relegation beckons. I'm listening to commentary and finally, FINALLY, the team are playing with some fight after a desperate season.
I wish a few others hadn't it's a right bugger to park when a match is on. How long does this last? I don't understand cricket at all and can't see the answer on their website.
Awww sorry you're put out Zoe! Close of play is around 6pm and they will be back again tomorrow unless Yorkshire wrap it up tonight.
C'mon Yorkshire We'll just get rid of the cricket lot in time for the Rhinos' match on Friday. I'm being promoted on Monday though and my hours are increasing so I won't get home until after the cricket has finished from now on. It's never been a bother any other year as I haven't been in during the games.
Stating the bleeding obvious but we've missed Coad this season with him hardly playing, after such a quality debut season last year.
Yes. the commentators have said so today. With Plunkett and Brooks leaving this summer we need him, and a few more, to step up and make themselves Yorkshire heroes.
Ok, the bad news is that the match goes into a fourth day. However, the good news is that Lancashire are being steamrollered and it will be a surprise if it lasts beyond lunchtime tomorrow. After that there is only one more game at Headingley, starting next Tuesday. Then there is one away, and that's the end of the season.
Thanks for the info, that's really useful to know! There's only one home rubgy match after Friday's too and then their season ends. Almost there!
Fingers crossed for Yorkshire tomorrow. Should wrap it up no bother but you just never know! How many teams go down, is it 2 or 3?
Two go down. I’m kicking myself for not going today. I was even IN Leeds briefly but I didn’t have the car and couldn’t be bothered with the hassle. It sounded like the England test series though - gripping, entertaining and so much riding on the result. Good chance I will go tomorrow. On the other hand it might be all over inside half an hour!
Only the other week Lancashire chased down over 300 for a surprise win, so we haven't won yet. Should do though.
The momentum was there in that last hour and we just blew away their middle order. There is nothing much left to come so it would be a major shock if we lost it now. Another victory against Hampshire next week should see them safe, then it is off to Worcester for the last match. Scandalous that they will be allowed to play Moeen Ali in that match but Yorks will be without Root and Bairstow, and Rashid of course. Double standards!
I shouldn't be surprised at the double standards. Big off season ahead with experienced guys leaving, trying to get De Villiers in, losing out on Duckett and hopefully Gale going. Applied in the ballot the other day for Ashes tickets but flipping heck 80 quid for the cheapest in western terrace is expensive.
a great game and a perfect example of why 4 day cricket (and test matches) remain the pinacle of cricket I know this opinion is at odds with the wider public but I hope the ECB never let it die
Imagine the top football clubs having to play without their international players - no, it would never happen, so why does it in cricket ?
