That certainly makes for interesting reading. Out of interest, any idea who the Barnsley fan is that’s posting on that forum? I’ve read a lot recently in relation to supposed covenants affecting the use of the land but I have not seen any documentary evidence to back up the comments. Does anyone have a copy of the register of title? Any restrictive/positive covenants will be noted therein.

The covenants, as far as I'm aware, apply to what was the old Co-op sports ground so that would be behind the North Stand and where the training pitch with the stand and artificial turf is situated. I was also led to believe that there's a patch of land adjacent to where the old brewery was that is owned by the Sam Smith's Brewery and it is this land which is holding up what BMBC proposed which was to drive a road from the retail park on Harborough Hill through to Pontefract Road and open up the land for leisure developments. There was a proposal to build a temporary bridge to fill in for the one that was lost in the floods in Tadcaster but this would have required access to Sam Smith's land in Tadcaster. Despite the company being a Taddy company for centuries they were having nothing to do with the proposal so the temporary bridge never got built and Tadcaster residents and visitors were greatly inconvenienced until the old bridge was repaired.

I'm not sure where to look up the registers however so don't take this as gospel.

It’s nice to read the stuff from the donny and Rotherham fans.

Even the ones that think the takeover might go tits up don’t diss the club.

I think their sensible fans, like ours, recognise the huge similarities in the three towns and the mirroring of the challenges facing the football clubs there, like attracting fans over the Sheffield clubs or Leeds, Man Utd. These days Man City too.

I’m from donny, i always look for donnys results and only really want them to lose against us (or games it would be beneficial to Barnsley for them to lose i guess). Same applies to Rotherham.

If any millers or rovers are reading this, I would hope most of our lot wish you all the best for a good season. I certainly do.
