Seen it a couple of times now. Experienced. Decent player. Familiar with the club. Probs too old for our remit but I don't know...

Stranger things have happened (what was the Egyptian called?)

Not getting any game time ........ thoughts? If there was a possibility like.

Interesting. Got the experience I'd love to see join us but not entirely sure where he'd slot in if we're to go with a 4-4-2 with Bradshaw and Moore. Doesn't fit our modus operandi in terms of recruitment so it would be a surprise.

Would take him a while to get match fit potentially as it seemed to when I caught a glimpse of him at Wednesday last year looking a wee bit lost in the wing.

Great player though and I'd welcome him back.

    No Thanks.

    Done nothing since leaving us.

Plus, I don't think I could bare the amount of Butterfield posts on the official twitter from Whitey... ;)

A bit out of our league, a lot out of our recruitment policy.

He's nowhere near the first team at the moment, so would be a great loan signing, if Derby subsidised his wages.

Hammill mk2. Logically should be a world beater in this league.

It would be a brilliant signing but I’d say no chance of this happening

Isn't he injury prone and quite overweight for a professional footballer? Wednesday fans I know say that he was diabolical for them, mostly due to being completely out of shape.

Butterfield is a rich man's Mowatt.

But Mowatt is not poor coinage in a modest man's home.

Not mobile enough and not sure where he'd fit. Better on the ball than Mowatt but I think we need Mowatt's extra graft more than we need that extra bit of quality.

Injury prone, yes. A football brain, yes. I really doubt it will happen TBH, but he can pass a ball. If Moore leaves I could see us playing the same way we have in recent games, with an amorphous attacking globule of players, rather than any formation, other than at the back. He could in some way fit into that sort of team, if back at some level of fitness.

As I say I really don't think it will happen, but there is a chance if Derby want to cut losses on his wages.
