Got to hand it to him. What's the point in wasting money on a scouting network when you can just look through the Barnsley squad on wikipedia.

Poor Saidy. Another player about to be dismantled and publicly criticised by little lee to cover his own shortcomings.

I'm very confident we'll finish above them this season.

We're a bit of a sitting duck in that respect. All the other clubs know that we don't pay the money, and that they can easily gazump us.

    Very frustrating.

no big loss for us....he played well at the end of the season but is injury prone.

Not unhappy about this, thought Janko was suspect defensively, cf his performance at Wigan. Best game was his cameo on the right of midfield in an already won game at Wolves.

Yids and McCarthy both much better imho.

Decent laiker, shame he can't stay, but Johnson persisting with a policy that didn't win him any friends at Ashton Gate last season. Gone by Christmas.

Agreed. Seem to have lost out on a few we've on loan or were supposedly close to signing recently. Not sure what can be done about it to be honest though. Although, saying that, I'm much more enthused about the prospect of Mccarthy at fullback than Janko. I liked Janko but appeared very injury prone and a tad inconsistent.

Yeah, that's a good point re his injury.

Mccarthy played two full seasons for Wycombe and Walsall respectively, so he sounds more reliable in that respect.

Never quite got it with Saidy. Much preferred him in an attacking role; not quite sure of him as a defender. Rarely won a header (looked a bit timid) and seemed to misjudge players running at him. Only his speed to get back saved him on occasion, so although not our worst loanee, I wasn't ultra-upset that he wasn't retained.

Good luck though, especially under that tw@

Janko is a good player. But I'd say he isn't much of a loss in the sense that he barely played due to injury.

Yiadom is as good to be honest, and whilst Janko is the sort of player I'd rather have in my team than someone else's, we can sufficiently cope without him.

Janko was cheaper out of the two or I could have seen Johnson coming in for Yiadom.

That moronic dward will probably play him as a holding midfielder or something. Best of luck to the lad, he'll fecking need it.

Aye, at least McCarthy appears to be considerably less prone to injury.

Disappointed we couldn't get him back, but fair enough if we didn't try/ want him considering his injuries. Johnson can bugger off, it's embarrassing watching try to sign every one of our players.
McCarthy having played so much is a real positive compared to Janko.

LJ is clueless when it comes to scouting players himself

I recall when he first came to oakwell, little lee seemed very keen on bringing Oldham players in. Seems to follow the Hill/Flitcroft recruitment model
