they are still trying to use satellite to try to locate the wreckage. I hope they do and recover the bodies. Its not pleasant but If they were my relatives I would at least like them back for peace of mind. Heartbreaking .
Lots of angry people on social media about it. Three days in and police have stopped looking after a tragic accident involving a dad of three. 12 years on and money is still spent looking for Madeline McCann when she wouldn't have gone missing if her parents were fit to parent.
Why out of interest? The McCann case has had an unprecedented level of interest and financial support compared to any other missing person case that I can remember
If Kate and Gerry were working-class people from Barnsley they'd have been banged-up for negligence. Middle clarrss surgeon or whatever and, bless them, they've suffered enough. Spare them the ignominy of prison.
To be fair the full.on search for her hasn't happened for 12 years. The Portuguese police seem to know she wasn't abducted from the apartment.
I am struggling to understand what the relationship is between the tragic Sala story and the Maddie McCann case. Where is the connection? Are you seriously comparing on cost?. The search for Sala has been called off because its impossible to survive being in the water for 72 hours. 72 minutes is pushing it.
How are the two comparable? One is a missing person where the authorities believe the missing may still be alive the other is a plane crash over sea in winter. I have criticised the McCann investigation as much as the next man, more actually, but I don't see any parallels here at all. It's common sense that you can't keep searching for a small craft in the sea in winter for too long, at least not as a rescue mission anyway. What people don't realise is that the investigation WILL continue just as it has for Maddy. Remember the investigation for her is active but they aren't out there actively searching the hillsides for her every day.
There is no connection, the two situations are completely different in every way imaginable but normal rules of logic and rationality are seldom seen on Twitter and other social media outlets.
Latest news is that the Air Investigation team are reviewing the conditions of the Pilots licence. The aircraft was registered in the USA and the licence conditions there for a private pilot licence means you can't charge a fee to carry any passengers. They are also concerned that a single engined plane was being flown, in Winter, at night, over open water. A Cardiff City spokesperson is saying they offered to lay on transport for Sala to get from France to Cardiff, but he rejected it and opted to make his own arrangements. How very very sad.
I believe the agent booked the plane, I’m sure it will all come out in the investigation but the details all seem a little strange
A mate of mine who has a pilots licence said the same thing to me - he said there is no way you should fly in the dark unless you have to, especially with one engine not over the sea for that length of time. He said he went over the channel at its widest point meaning 45 mins over it rather than 20. He also mentioned about not being able to receive money for flying. It all seems very odd.
