57th top scorer in Barnsley FC history. 31 goals. Level with my favourite ever striker, Neil Shipperley and wing wizard Owen Archdeacon.
he'd comfortably be top scorer today, if he'd been played in a two from the start of the season. i reckon dicking about with formation has probably cost him about 5 goals
Quality at this level I used to love Bruce dyer though but Sammy is a close second fave striker. If he scores another winner at bramall lane that could change.
Touche. I see twenty as a major milestone but I don't think he'll stop there. I'm going to say twenty six but I won't be putting any money on it.
I'd give you a tip of 24 goals but he'll either miss a sitter at 23 or one will bounce in off his eyebrow while on 24.
Great to have a natural goal scorer after years of struggling to find a forward who could hit double figures. Thought he was off it again today but cannot argue with his strike rate. On course for 23-25 goals fitness permitting.
And cost the team a few points. I'll stick my kneck out and say if Lee Jay hadn't tried that 451 boring ***** at start we would be in play offs already.
Absolutely love Winnall. Easily my favourite player. I don't even think we've seen the best of him. When he really hits top form he's going to be phenomenal. Just hope he's here after this season because any manager worth their salt will be trying to pinch him. Amongst 3 or 4 others as well.
Shipperley was the best striker we had had since Ward. Have we had anyone has good as Shipperley since?
No. But Ferenczi, Davies and COG were all described as "the best since Shipperley" by many, on this forum. I think all three moulded into one player would have still been worse than Shipps.
I loved Ronnie Glavin Trevor Aylott David Currie Neil Redfearn John Hendrie Ashley Ward Craig Hignett Neil Shipperley
I will guess at some Ernest Hine Ronnie Glavin Neil Redfern Andy Payton David Currie Mick Butler Bruce Dyer Andy Rammell Cecil McCormack Andy Liddell Ian Banks
