Agreed spider, too many 10 year old mentalities on here who are always ready to dish it out and wish people serious injury and death etc.
    Man up?
    Grow up!

Let him celebrate I don't give a flying **** who he is now.

Don't have the cheek to applaud the same fans half an hour later though.

They incident gives the FA even more reason to come for us after recent local derby behaviour. I'm shocked whoever did it wasn't thrown out and that they even got back the Peppa Pig.

As for Winnall if he wanted to incite he picked a random part of the ground instead of in front of where the pig got thrown at him.

A large minority were booing him, a small minority were giving him a bit more abuse, one person threw a soft toy in front of him. What about the remainder that he riled?

It's against the rules to makes gesture which are provocative, derisory or inflammatory. If his antics weren't provocative I don't what is. The ref bottled a booking that would have seen him ultimately sent off, which is exactly what he should have been today, potentially even earlier after a cynical late challenge on Scowen.

I think the peppa pig is quite a harmless bit of banter to be fair - I mean, if it was thrown at me I would find it quite funny, maybe also the 18k a week would help my sense of humour. however, as he showed in his conduct during the transfer window, Winnall simply doesn't have the personality to react in a classy manner - so he decides to wind up all the Barnsley fans. I don't agree with all out abuse on players, but I dare say most people at some point have shouted something at players - I admit to shouting "TAXI!" at little old Dennis Wise not long after his little altercation with a Cab driver - I also remember being in the West Stand near the pitch and Ian Bishop coming over to take a throw in, I could not help but ask him how is girlfriend was (Trevor Morley, look it up), top bantz right? Any reaction other than laughing or waving or just ignoring merely makes the player look bad and encourage further scrutiny from fans.

Received abuse/boos all game then he's a monster because he gives a bit back after scoring.

Are you serious? It was a chuffing soft toy. Most would see that as a bit of fun. It was the most memorable event of the match until injury time.

Sums up the kind of person he is.
I have it on good authority that he is not very popular amongst the players at Wednesday.

Go crazy in front of your own fans, he showed a total lack of class I thought.

And how've didn't get booked for that celebration is beyond me.

Oh well, we'll see him next year in the championship because there's no way wednesday will go up.

I'm more interested in why he wasn't booked for that and then sent off from a disgraceful challenge moments later. Game changing decisions bottled by the referee.

To quote the laws of the game:

    Celebration of a goal
A player must be cautioned for:
    • gesturing in a provocative, derisory or inflammatory way

Why are some folk on taking it personally the abuse Winnall is getting, Some have different views on the matter. You know my view on him & I stand by that, loved him when he was here then it turned a bit sour the last couple of months just because a small minority gave him a little criticism(not me btw] so I say again fk him.

For me the Winnall situation is dissapointing. Not the fact he moved, but the way he acted both to engineer the move and when he scored. It's a shame that someone who was such a good player for us is now hated by our fans. If he'd acted with a bit of humility on the pitch - celebrated with Wednesday fans, or (unlikely) not at all - he may have got more applause from reds fans at the end. Contrast with Hourihane who's now regarded as a Barnsley legend, he's the complete opposite

We gave him **** because he walked out the day of Rimmos funeral to join the horrible arrogant club down the road that he knows we despise.

He knew what he was getting into and should 'man up' (awful expression) instead of being a petulant little child.
