My mate had his car broke into outside work last week. the coppers have watched CCTV footage of the thief in action. This kid is stood next to our small car park which holds 12 cars, he is playing with his mobile for a bit, then he walks around all the cars, stops by mates car, puts the side window through, opens the doors he's in and gone in less than 10 seconds.
It turns out that the kid was bluetoothing the cars to see if any of them had a GPS, which my mates did. So he walked around the cars looking for tell tale signs - the circle on the windscreen where the sticky bit goes gave it away. The GPS was in the glove box and the power cable and cradle were in the driver door compartment. The copper said 90% of people store theirs in the same way.
Be warned if you have a GPS - turn off the bluetooth when not in use, and wipe the suction pad mark off your windscreen.
Merry Christmas

I don't suppose the CCTV pictures were sufficient to identify the theif. If not I would question the reason for them being there.
Best CCTV story I ever heard A former clients company has CCTV in the car park one day contact returns to his desk to find a voicemail from security saying "Hello Mr Smith, security here I'd just like to advise you there is someone breaking into your vehicle in the car park" He legs it down and finds window smashed glove box ransacked etc goes to security and says something along the lines of why didnt you intervene (I think Using a few expletives) reply comes back " Our job is just to monitor - its too dangerous to intervene we might get hurt, heath and safety rules!" quality
I caught a scrote breaking into my Landrover.... in the Summer... caught the asswipe red handed, It was like a dream come true for me as i'd had a few cars broken into over the years... He tried walking away saying he was looking for a flat to rent... For some strange reason he kept walking into my fist several times before throwing himself onto the end of my boot...
