“Get him on the next train back to Barnsley…." @BLAIRT1875: “I’m actually done for this season already. Abysmal. No passion No fight and certainly not the same Hibs I was hoping for at the start of the season” @LennonLynxy72: “Hecky is full of the talk. But his team is boring and rotten. Playing Scott Allan on the right? Deary me” @Shadey1875: “Just the 11 goals in 3 games lost then? Including 2 games at home and 1 to lower league opposition. Not looking great for Heckinbottom really” @TheMrLiamD: “What a shambles we are. Thought Hecky was supposed to make us tough to play against? average teams coming here and tearing us open time after time. We haven’t looked this bad since we were relegated”
Board haven’t backed him, someone else is picking the players, not enough money, refs fault, don’t worry about mistakes we’re young and it was close, Barnsley’s fault. Delete as appropriate
So I take it the posters on here are not fans of Heckinbottom? I thought he was a great coach myself and gave me some of the best memories of supporting BFC in over 40 years.
I hope he turns it around and has every success. He gave us the most incredible calendar year (2016) in the last two decades, winning a trophy and a promotion at Wembley within two months of each other, then got us to within reach of the Championship play offs before the team was gradually sold off. I find it bewildering how much negativity is shown towards him nowadays, presumably because he left for Leeds.
Are they idiots? They had a brilliant run at the end of last season & they’re currently on 4 points from 9 with the only defeat coming against Rangers.
Great memories with us. Just went sour at the end due to the form, couldn't buy a win. Don't blame him going to Leeds, he did what he did for the security of his family. We should still have stayed up that season. Shame we ended up with Morais who had other ideas (crazy fool).
Went sour for me due to putting his stamp on and going 451 negative football, players out of position every game, changing the line up every game, loaning players out and not giving chance to ones who were good enough then slating young players in public and blaming everyone else. I felt for him losing Sam and conor half way through the season but on the other hand I could see why cryne sold with 6 months left, selling players with 2 and 2 n half years left for average fees I cannot understand. We were already was in the jpt final when he took over all he had to do was beat a league 2 side and the team were on a 7 game winning run in the league he didnt have to change much. But I enjoyed the memories while he was head coach and seems like a nice bloke though so I hope he does end up having a decent career in management the hubs job is a quite safe one and I imagine he will want to be back in England and closer to home if/when he gets the opportunity.
Stendel didnt even want miller in the 1st place I've heard from a good source, woodrow injured the board sell moore for pittance 4 working days before the window ends with no replacement lined up, end up bringing a striker in who isnt ready to start a game. Said it before but cryne sold a few players with 6months remaining and got hammered, this lot sell players with 2 years left for peanuts and some wont have a bad word said about them. Stendel got us promoted over a full season a full season unbeaten at home playin some of the best stuff I have seen since wilson in 97. he didnt take over a team on a winning run who were already in a cup final. As for the cavare one must be more to it for me.
I wasn't taking a side either way just stating a few things that have happened already. If you are saying things haven't got any better with regard our transfer dealing I agree.
I wasnt taking sides either but stendel doesn't turn into a bad manager over night, if klopp at liverpool is forced to sell his 2 centre halfs loses his goalkeeper for nothing and has mo Salah sold and replaced with 4 20 year olds with good stats from league one chances are they wont be pushing city. They haven't got better but their is a difference selling players with 6months left and ones with 2 years hecky got some great loans in james,Armstrong, barnes, mcburnie stendel cant have a loan because we wont make a profit.
He did, though not getting McBurnie from the start and losing Barnes half way through really hurt us. We also can't say if we would have gone down or not if Hecky had stayed. Selling with 6 months or 2 doesn't make much odds to me it's the quality of what you replace with that matters. The anger at the Winnall and Hourihane sales was more to do with us being so close to play offs at the time. What we do know is the last time we brought it this many new unproven players all in one go we did end up going down. It's a huge gamble. Then again a lot of people blamed Hecky for that too saying he chose all the players..so
He did chose the players though (read the recruitment sticky at the top of the board)but then loaned many out and played moncur mowatt on the wings thiam as a lone striker and pearson as a full back.
