Do you think the Russian government has paid for them to come?
It's like they are playing at home.

There were more England fans than I was expecting, considering the press have been making a big thing about low numbers. The TV only cut to the fans celebrating once, briefly after the final whistle, but throughout the match you could see pockets of our fans around the ground as well as in the official sections.

You aren't wrong. Seen many episodes of Airport Columbia on National Geographic channel from El Dorado and the cash amount for it is a lot. As are the sentences. You can easily get 10-15 years for drugs smuggling there. 'Runners' aren't the stereotype you'd think too. All sorts risk it for good money.

Hope you are not thinking of risking it. Not worth it and your input on bbs would be sorely missed. Tbh I often wondered if you were on drugs. Lol

There were a lot of Russians supporting England. Heard a few accounts of interviewers struggling to find actual England fans after the game because so many were Russians in England shirts
According to 5 live there were only 2k England fans that made the trip which is low compared to previous comps.

I wouldn't take too much notice of the numbers they keep referring to. Those are the sales from the official allocation which are only sold to travel club members. Some will have bought direct from FIFA in neutral areas, especially expats from all over the world. There's clearly fewer England fans than usual, but the press seem keen to exaggerate it.

Yeah, I did wonder that from previous trips with England. At one point I spent 300 euros on an England ticket at the Germany World cup, got in the stadium ok but some irate German guy came to the seat and angrily explained the ticket had been stolen and then reissued . I moved quickly and found an empty seat elsewhere while he looked for security. Eek! I'm surprised the ticket hadn't been cancelled on the electronic turnstile. Was lucky really

Wonder what @Micky Finn experience has been at the game on Monday

The most laughable newspaper reports were those with the figures of sales to each country. They made a big thing of there being 89,000 tickets sold to the USA, who didn't even qualify, but failed to see that they will have been to people of numerous nationalities.
