Not being unduly negative, like, but I think we need some improvement from somewhere.

We were supposed to have the fitness sorted with our ultra-rigorous pre-season, and our recruitment was supposedly much better. But the fact is, we haven't got a proper defence, and there's only really Nyatanga left to add in to the equation. The jury must be out on him, given BCFC's season last year. The midfield is strong on effort, but less so on physical presence and attacking skill. Up front, there's Pedersen to come back, but I reckon we've got him until January at best. The rest are grafters, and we're gonna be well stuck if O'Grady gets injured.

In short, I can't see what we can expect but another season of struggle. I really thought we had players who were making forward strides, but I'm beginning to suspect that last season was the peak for many of them. Will it take another dire predicament before we begin to play convincingly again? And can we trust that we can summon up another effort like last season?

I'm not having a downer for the sake of it, but I've gotta say I'm much more pessimistic about our prospects than I was on August 1st. And I'm struggling to see what is going to change, short term. Anyone feel otherwise?

Why the **** would we want to change? We set off the season with a ***** start, were improving and just lost to a team away from home by a late goal, a team that will probably be in the top 6. Players are coming back, Cranie etc. I've been very encouraged by our last 2 home games, which we should have got 6 pts from. We're scoring freely now.

We'll be reyt, chill art, get behind em.

We're doing ok. Table will start to level out in 5 games time or so.

Yes..........I know exactly what you mean.........hence my previous posts

Year after year after year after year..........we are stuck at the bottom of the league

I, like you, were expecting a change from this during this season............but here we are again.........and its a bit wearing to say the least

I wasn't expecting us to get anything at Forest..........but to lose again in the dying minutes AGAIN.......well.......its enough to put you off football. Its so dis-heartening

Being fairly realistic, I would expect us to maybe get the following points from the next five games:

    A Bournemouth D [1]
    H Watford D [1]
    A Leicester L [0]
    H Reading D [1]
    A QPR L [0]

Some would say that's on the optimistic side. So, from being 4 points from 18 [22%] we'd be 7 points from 33 [21%]. If we get a win from those next five (which I personally doubt), we'd be 9 points from 33 [27%]. Even that optimistic scenario would see our equivalent season points at 37 from 138 [27%].

Those who doubt this will be our season's performance must think something will change to bring about improved results? If so, what? I don't think any vague notion of the table "levelling out" will bring this about. That's like waiting for the tooth fairy isn't it?

trouble being the table might start levelling out in 5 games or so but if we're underneath it when it does level out oh dear. It seems to me the vast majority of last years personnel, with the honourable exception of O'Grady and a couple more, give me a fortnight and i'll think of somebody, are the types you want by your side in the trenches at Ypres etc, but unfortunately if they got you out of the trenches, there is no where near enough nous, guille and expertise to take you forward to victory and progress.

    Tend to agree with you
Just a few puzzling decisions such as why Wiseman was put to mark Henderson
But in general not unduly worried every team is gonna be asked questions in this league and no team is gonna get everything right by a long way and flicker will sort things out, he doesn't carry on with same system/tactics as keef tended to do and tries things and acts to strenghthen in right places imo.
As someone said its all about opinions

Actually its about getting more points than three other teams, which is all we can hope for again this season.

And that's all we'll keep getting if we persist in sacking managers.
Managers aren't made in a couple of seasons and I'm not gonna use Alex Ferguson as an example cos he had a proven record before Manure.
But there are managers who have been given time and come good such as malky Mackay Brendan Rodgers etc. And in flicker I think we have such a talent but he needs to learn his trade and mistakes are gonna be inevitable and I don't think he will settle for just staying up a his experience develops as Simon Davey would have done
What I have seen in the manager is that at least when he realises things aren't going to plan he tries to make amends.and we need to give him time to grow into a manager imo

Yes it is......and I think we'll get more points than 5 or 6 teams.

We've gave Forest a game today, they're in top 6 and will probably end up in the "end game" come April 2014.

Flicker will improve on last season......and that means we survive under healthier conditions.

    RELAX.

But what will change to bring about that improvement?

    I'm not seeing it, myself.

    Hope I'm wrong, mind.

Nowt will change because we are a selling club. I would love us to have a squad of 16 that stays together a few seasons - we cant continue changing players summer after summer it just doesn't work.

Don't think there's a club in the English league that's achieved that

We have to though. At least the management and players do. Both those games were poor in the second half to be fair.
