I amongst others sat around me haven’t renewed yet, would it be in the clubs interest to extend the deadline? I may find myself changing my mind once the dust has settled but I won’t pay full price for league one, I’m sure I’m not alone.
They’ve publicly advertised the prices before and after the end of the offer. I’m not sure they could extend it now as it would be unfair on the ones who have already taken the plunge and renewed, in my case weeks ago not knowing which division we’d be playing in. Renew or don’t. We all had the same options and dates, if you haven’t renewed yet and choose not to that’s fine but you can’t expect the club to drop its pricing structure, which is already pretty fair, to suit you. ‘Full’ price as you put it will be hugely competitive compared to most other league one teams. (Pause and wait for someone to whinge about Bradford being cheaper). If you don’t want to pay it, that’s perfectly fine - but you can’t expect them to change the ‘early bird’ offer to a ‘not so early bird but we’ve got a few fans who might renew if we extend it’ offer. If I’d had the option of getting it as cheap but renewing later I’d have loved to. Could have done without forking out this month, my mum got married today - two nights in a relatively expensive hotel in the lakes, new suits (for me and my son), shoes (all 5 of us) and dresses (for the Mrs and my girls), food, drink. Three lost days pay (self employed contractor in finance). Cost a bomb overall. I chose to still renew because I knew league one or championship I would anyway so had a plain choice of cheaper, or better time to fork out. Chose the former. If they shift the goalposts now it’d be unfair. I wouldn’t be that arsed unless they made it cheaper and didn’t refund me the difference - but I would be a bit put out that I didn’t have the same opportunity to pay later. My May invoice can’t come soon enough. If they do extend it I hope that will mean bigger crowds but I suspect it will actually mean poor numbers so far and them being a bit needy.
All the potential league one clubs i could find prices for Barnsley cheapest adult: £390 Clubs cheaper Sunderland: £370 Peterborough: £349 Bradford: £199 Blackpool: £275 Bristol: £275 Fleetwood: £250 Oxford: £330 Rochdale: £250 Northampton : £370 Mk Dons: £365 Clubs more expensive Southend: £395 Rotherham: £395 Oldham: £420 (though there is a middle price band ending June 20 priced at £360) Shrewsbury: £400 (middle price up to 24 June £355)
The early bird offer is a concession to those, like me, who are willing to part with the cash without knowing for certain what level of football they're getting in return. I don't have a problem with extending the deadline, but to do it now, so close to the original deadline will only result in more fans hanging on to their cash until the last minute next year, in the hope that the same thing will happen again. So probably not really what the club wants in the long run.
Hiking up the prices what could potentially be 3 days after relegation does seem laughable. As someone who renewed weeks ago I wouldn't mind if they did and think it would be a great move. Setting the prices in such a way when relegation was on the cards is baffling to me. Who on earth will buy one from May onwards?
Let's be realistic, the difference in revenue for the club is minimal in the grand scheme of things. Given the sh*t-show the fans have had to endure this season, it's a no-brainer to scrap the deadline.
They should put the early bird back to the end of May. If we're relegated they should scrap it completely and sell season tickets at the current price through to August and also look at reducing match by match tickets to £20 maximum.
Yes, simply because they STILL haven’t sent out letters so people who don’t ‘do’ social media are unaware that they have 4 days to renew.
I'm still waiting for my renewal letter/email. I don't use the official site, but I've got to know about season tickets from reading this BBS. Me dad, who's had a season ticket continually since I was a kid, so 40 years, didn't know anything about a deadline or early bird prices or even if you could renew yet until I told him last week.
I think it’s quite clear my point was about a lot more than me and the fact I’ve already renewed. If the numbers are crap they will probably extend it. Or do a further similar offer. It is a fact that if they do so there will be people who have already renewed who otherwise might have waited. The wedding had no relevance whatsoever other than illustrating an example of why some folk might have benefitted from renewing later had they known they had the option.
I wasn’t aware of that. I assumed as i’d renewed mine and the lad’s already they hadn’t sent ours. In that case they haven’t fairly promoted it really have they? Not sure if they’ve put it in the programmes or made an announcement on the tannoys that I’ve missed?
I only know about the early bird due to me having access to the internet. I've had no postal or email correspondence from the club about renewals.
Why have you quoted our most expensive price ? An adult ticket in the family stand is £285 & an adult ticket on the Ponty is £315 , with concessions on offer for other age groups , I suppose quoting these prices does not suit your agenda , but if you are making a point , please be factual
When I was at the club the other day renewing ours, the other guy in the queue mentioned to the box office person that he hadn't received a reminder. The response was along the lines of 'other people have said that'. You have to wonder exactly what's going on down there.
He was quoting our prices after the early bird period. In response to the comment that even at "full price" our tickets are reasonably priced in comparison to others. Don't know how that is a agenda but it was factual.
