26 League appearances before this season, just turned 20, has played three different positions for us in 6 games at a higher level, when he played CB (for 45 minutes) and CM we kept clean sheets. I think he’s doing well overall.
I’m not one of the Sibbick haters, but to suggest he’s done well is a bit much. He is still a weak link (not the only one). With Cavare back in the team, hopefully Sibbick will be given a bit more time to develop as a bit-part player.
Yep, I agree. I don't know why he's getting the stick that he is doing. I think he's done quite well so far.
I think overall he has been just below average. He is less exposed in the centre than on the wings. Plenty of potential but I fear this season might be a steep learning curve.
I mean I think he’s done well considering how few games he’s played overall and how young he is, and how he has adapted to playing different positions so quickly. It’s always good to have a versatile player in the squad. I know it’s been said before but we do need to remember how young this team is and bear that in mind. They’re trying their best (we’ve seen lots in the past who haven’t) and it’s not their fault the oldest of them is 24 with limited Championship experience.
If we keep most of them together for a couple of years with DS coaching them we will have an interesting team.
I like him. Genuinely perplexed by the criticism he gets. Wilks seems to be a favourite, but all I've seen him do is give the ball away every time he gets it. Even when he scored that handed possession to the opposition!
Well he's young and I assume must have high scores in whatever statistics we measure for him to be noticed. And I'm guessing he played much better for Doncaster last season than he has for us so far.
Played a blinder today did Toby. Not just our MOTM he was the best player on the pitch. He's so versatile in being able to play in numerous positions and it is going to be a pleasure watching him get even better as the season goes on.
I like the look of him. He's got something about him and I think he'll develop into a very special player. I'll even go out on a limb and say he'll be the first player we sell for over £10 million.
He might, at a stretch, be the second player who played for Barnsley who sells for over £10M, but that won't be us.
I really like the look of him. His positional deficiencies are things which can be taught with good coaching - something which he's sure to get at Barnsley. However, his obvious skill and strength are things which are much more inate. I think he's going to be a huge asset for us in whatever time he's a Barnsley player.
