It looks like that might be it regarding any future signings until the team and staff have returned from Hungary. I might be wrong due to the CEO still being at the club. Personally I was hoping we would have secured a striker or two to take on the Hungary training/team bonding camp. I am making this assessment on the basis that the club will be closed for business tomorrow.
I heard that as well IRO. In his discussion with Jonathan Buchan on Radio Sheffield Hecky said ideally he would like as many of the targets in so they can join in the training sessions in Hungary. He said if it didn't happen he would still have an opportunity to integrate them in time for the new season. Sounds as though McGeehan is on a separate training regime as the rest as he's got some catching up to do following his leg break. Good to hear Paul say he was fully recovered " medically" but he is not yet at the physical strength level of the others. Also encouraged to hear him say that Sessi D'Almeida's recovery and return was technically like bringing a brand new signing in. I believe if he can stay fit Sessi could play an important part in our season. You only get the chance to become a professional footballer if you've got the wherewithal to play the game to a reasonable standard. As the saying goes one mans meat is another mans poison and just because a player didn't do very well at one club doesn't necessarily mean he's going to fail at his next. Young lads respond to a coach that both shows patience in their development and let's them know that they are wanted. Every one of our new signings I've either heard from our read about cites the attitude of Hecky as being one of the real reasons behind their decision to join the Club in that he knew all about their style of play and how if they did come on board he would be able to accommodate them in his team. You've got to believe that the players we have brought in have been under the scrutiny of our scouting network representatives for some time and are with us because Paul and his backroom staff truly believe they can blend in and improve with the aim of at the very least preserving our status in the Championship.!
I reckon a lot of the legwork will have been done with several players, so just a matter of fine details. In which case, I don't think Hecky necessarily needs to be present, so wouldn't be surprised if players came in whilst the squad is away. We could also be running the rule over a few trialists whist in Hungary. Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
I think we're spinning it out abit, but there's one more ... We like to make the maximum affect.. Its important
I hope we sign some strikers, I'm not sure the innovative 5-5-0 Formation will work. Unless we are talking about houses then 2 up 2 down may be considered.
