Just reluctantly signed up to sky again after Almost 6 years. Free Sky via CS has now come to an end. They currently do have a huge discount to soften the blow of going back.

Sky are currently doing a ridiculous offer of 67% off, but apparently only if the customer mentions it.

This applies to both new and existing customers not under a contract.

I have got Entertainment package + Boxsets and HD sport for £23 pm for 18 months. I wasn't bothered about movies.

I know some on here will say they will never pay to sky that's fair enough but those who do may as well try to get it cheaper.

Cheers for that, mines just gone up to £53 this month from £40 for the bottom package, Sky fibre & line. I've looked at my account and the offers l had have ended so l'm assuming my 12 months contract has just finished. I know how this is going to go though, exactly the same as last time and the time before that.

Me: "l can't afford this...l'm moving to Virgin, they're offering me...[made up price]"
Sky: "Well, we can only offer you a discounted rate of £32 per month.."
Me: "I'm off to Virgin then"
Sky: "Bye Mr xxxxx, your line will be terminated on the 10th"
    Line goes dead.
Me: "Wooah pal, l'm only joking, hello hello, ******* w*nkers"
    Two days later
Missus: "what you done with the telly, its a blank screen" (we've also got no aerial on the roof!)

We then had a two week wait for Sky to come out and l had to buy a aerial from Argos in the meantime and watch tv like it was 1988.

Is that with the Sky Q boxes Andy? Or are they still loads more. Is there an offer code or anything?

Ihad a similar deal but only cancelled recently when it went up to 88 quid or something. We dont really watch a lot of TV so seemed a bit of a waste. I'd pay 23 quid though.

I just called up and told them I moved into a new house and want everything except movies. Told they my friends have been getting good deals. She said about £35 was best they could do. So I asked about the 67% offer and she immediately reduced it to £23. Could have had it for next to nowt without, box sets, music and kids stuff

My mates have just been phoning up and reconning and asking for 67% off or just saying they want to cancel it's too expensive how come my friend has a deal with 67% off and getting it

It's sky Q with one box. extra box would have been 12 quid which they wouldn't discount. I may just get sky go extra for £5 and use PS4 in other room. We ain't got s phone line yet so wouldnr be able to use extra box anyway.

Deal is also for Normal HD boxes though.

Also to anyway still paying £10 per month for HD. Sky have scrapped that but won't tell you. They now just charge £6 for sport in HD

It's days are probably numbered if card sharing via VM gets blocked :)

I did actually try it and wasn't really impressed.

I recently tested a iptv service which can run via any enigma2 sky box such as zgemma or via smart TVs which was fantastic and most channels in we're in HD for £10pm. I could probably cope with it but not sure wife and kids would

Call my mate (Chris Austin 07718 330555) and he will sort you out Sky Q for around £30 per month ( full package including movies .... £12 a month extra for an additional mini Q box you can take from room to room in your house.)

Even for existing Sky customers if you are not tied to an existing 12 or 18 month contract give him a call, he will probably advise you to cancel your current Sky subscription and then once confirmed he will set you up on the new offer like my 12 month deal ( I got a separate deal for telephone & fiber ( non Sky).

There's always deals to be had with Sky. You just need to know how to play them and drop on.

Currently pay £20pm for all Sky, movies, boxsets, sport, F1, HD. This was a returning customer offer last October. They even credited my account £100. So over the 12 months, it works out at £11.66 pm.

Previous 12 months, it was £25pm under missus name (different surname and bank details). Got free box and free install (new dish).

Before that, I had 25 month contract of all for £25pm. Free box, free install. That was something to do with their 25 year anniversary. I got given a code from an engineer via twitter.

They still keep phoning the missus to come back (she's had to block their number), and sending letters. Latest is with standard 60% discount. This is via the www.sky.com/offer60 link.

Up until last year, I'd been a Sky customer since 1994 - and last going off was paying just over £100 for my package inc. broadband.

After a recommendation from a mate I got a ZGemma H2S for £130 (inc. a years subscription - or "gift") and gave it a try. After a week I phoned Sky to cancel as the new system was exactly the same as Sky - but with more HD and all premium channels inc. movies, Box Nation, Pay Per View, new movies etc.

About a month ago, Sky had clearly got wise & started to switch off channels, starting with SSN & SS1. Two weeks ago, all Sky & premium channels had disappeared. The other channels were there but they'd clearly blocked theirs.

Last week, I got iptv installed onto the ZGemma box. It's got the lot. Cost £45 for a years subscription and a tenner for the guy to install - you can do it yourself but I was being particularly lazy lol. He told me that this can also be installed on Sky boxes, android boxes, fire sticks, laptops, mobiles etc. can't do it on BT Openbox - yet. Watched the boxing last night, no probs.

The guy was saying that because the ZGemma uses the satellite system, Sky were able to block what they wanted. But because iptv is via servers, Sky can't do it. We'll wait & see, but in the mean time I'll have a far more cost-effective package.

And, even better, I've got a great sense of satisfaction knowing I'm not adding to Mr Murdochs fortune.

Had it for almost 6 years. Sky have now replaced most of the very old sky digital boxes which were only capable of one type of encryption and have now changed the ecyptionn type so the sky boxes no longer work.

Anyone in a cable area can still get the sky service on the cable version of the zgemma boxes as virgin media still isn't blocked and this is where a lot of the iptv services are getting their streams from

I have had a test line on my zgemma box for the iptv service though it's much better direct through smart tv. I agree it was great quality and I could get by but the wife and kids like to record stuff and have the ease of use that sky offers. I do t mind paying 23 quid it's probably what the price should be

Welcome to my world Homer. It'll probably go like this:

Missus will probably get tit on because Cora's not taped
Teenage daughters going sick because Kardashian's is not on
Toddlers gone ape because Mr Tumble's fecked off.

Did you mention the 67% discount?
