Guy Martin's plans for the first world war tank to attend Lincoln's remembrance service.
What a remarkable programme that was.
What a set of pathetic spoil sports are the police. Why do they always know better than everybody else?
    Beggars belief.

they use track pads for road use as opposed to battle tracks and it was a play on P.C. as in police constable. and as for 1 mans publicity it may just be to do with the millions that died in ww1

How does a tank do that exactly? I don't need to see one to remeber the lives wasted in the carnage of WW1

they wear shoes, rubber pads that are bolted on to the tracks, the vehicle he took his test in had them, most armoured vehicles have them and its a pain in the arse to change them, its called a track bash and people maybe interested in the history of what it was like in the 1st tanks

They may well be but for me we don't need one at a remberence parade. have an event in a field if you must. In fact, dig a ******* trench and live in mud, cold and squalor for a few weeks to get the real experience, all before being made to go over the top in a hail of gunfire.

its the fact that the 1st tanks were made in Lincoln I think they wanted to remember and celebrate ( I always thought it was armstrong Vickers in leeds) as for living in a "big ******* trench in mud" been there done that and even got the medals for it

Yes, I know. So you'll know it isn't a thing to be glorified and actually something to be seen for what it was - a futile waste of human life and potential for no benefit.
