I've certainly not written off any of the players who may not have hit the ground running.
I don't believe the level of progress we have been making can be sustained ad infinitum, but progress can still be made.

I'd say because in the summer we lost Ashley Fletcher and Ivan Toney that when we brought in Tom Bradshaw and Adam Armstrong those two will firstly be replacing two we've lost rather than one we lost months later.

Haha that's fine :D Lets just say Bradshaw was to replace Winnall, that means we are still a striker short because one of our loan strikers hasn't been replaced :D

You could equally be talking about James Bree.

Except you couldn't because Bree adapted to the Champinship fairly effortlessly and we miss him pretty badly. I wouldn't see anyone offering £3million quid plus for Gethin Jones at this stage of his development. You would have to put him a good 18 months behind Bree which is unsurprising given he not played anything like the number of games.

...and that's what will make PH leave the club.

In my opinion james Bree was by far our weakest defender this season (and last) and his only real attribute is his date of birth. That said I think Jones is far worse.

Right backs in order over the past 2 or 3 years:
    George Williams
    Andy yiadom
    Ma'am holgate
    James Bree
    Gethin Jones

I believe that Jones was a panic signing who we had to rush to loan because we had nobody at all as a back up when we sold James Bree too early in the window.

I`m with you on this one, the club knew Sammy Snake was not going to sign an extension and acted quickly, i agree Bradshaw was Sammy Snake replacement

I fail to see how a replacement can be a strike partnership.

Strikers Bradshaw, Payne and Armstrong with the options of using Watkins on wing or up front. Sammy upset the plans by still being here.

Until Winnall proved he could score goals at this level he was going nowhere.

I do agree though that Bradshaw was brought in as his longer term replacement but in that sense now he has gone Bradshaw might be his replacement in the team but not in the squad if that makes sense.

Armstrong wasn't at the club, Payne had never played a professional game. I know we are crap at planning but it's very hard to believe that we would have wanted to start the season with 1 striker and a winger cum striker.

I think we miss Bree as an attacking force more than a defensive one to be fair of all the full backs mentioned his work on the offensive part of his game was the best I've seen from a full back since Nicky Eaden left. Defensively he still has some work to do but he isn't much younger than Gethin Jones or Holgate and no one offered millions for those two. George Williams I thought was generally no better than meh as a right back I thought he was a great left back I think the same about Yiadom.
