It seems like he's managing to keep all the forwards happy. With 6 quality forwards that's no mean feat. Shows how good his man management skills are and also probably shows that they've all bought into this system.
He's like a kids manager, they're all getting their turn to start! Helps when you're winning too I suppose.
Undoubtedly helped by the 2 additional substitutes. Something that I think it will be retained after COVID and normality returns.
Exactly this. At junior level all kids should get fair pitch time, regardless of abilities. Plenty of time for competition when they get to 18+
Think that is just a bi product of keeping the pressure on the opponents for 90 mins it also give him a real sight of all 6 in match situations rather than he has done well in training I`ll give him ago. He`s just utilising what he has got while he has the opportunity.
It's most obvious among the front 3 but, more generally, he's successfully introduced the concept of squad rotation without noticeably upsetting any individuals within it. At times this season, Mowatt was being regularly substituted mid-game for tactical reasons. Sollbauer & Sibbick seem to be in rotation based on whether the opposition are better countered by experience or pace in the first instance. The remarkable thing is that this started when we didn't really have an adequate squad to properly rotate, but we're really seeing the benefits of it following the January transfer window, particularly in the front 3. Woodrow has gone 6 games or so without scoring, but no-one is really picking up on this now as the contributions are coming from all the forwards. We're no longer reliant on him to be the one scoring to the same extent, which hopefully removes some of the pressure from him he no doubt felt earlier in the season. Barnsley FC and squad rotation. Two things you never thought would appear in the same sentence!
