RE: I don't think there is anything wrong with the sentiment... We are talking about 17,18,19 yr olds in the main, they are adults and from what I've read of Red Rains reports when he did comment on individuals they were hardly cutting. Maybe the coaching staff don't want any scrutiny of their performance
Hopefully "Bunny" will get culled Because our academy is utter toss. I bet he has a ton of badges though.
RE: Hopefully "Bunny" will get culled LOL at Bunny culled! Hope that does happen when Robins is appointed, and his little mate oldschooltyke can p**s off as well. The Academy team is seen as poor in many respects, and someone gives their opinion. The confidence of those running the show is so fragile that they ban the writer from watching a game, fearing his assessment. They ban him on the spurious grounds of him not being an acccredited journalist. Crude in the extreme! Then later we read some fawning supporter of "Bunny" who writes under the name oldschooltyke, writing a very weak piece in his first posting. He even tries to sound confident and cocky when he says he wishes he'd been there to see Red Rain refused entry. Hides his insecurity under a pathethic attempt to sound humorous and confident.
RE: Yeah They Don't Want Anything Given Away For Free 5) attend meetings on a tuesday night at East Dene Club...
RE: who's Mark Burton, big fan of the reds then are you Did he actually make any first team appearances? Even if he did, I can safely say he made less of an impact than Deniol Graham or Phil Gridelet!
id like to see the chron report on this and make the people at the club look the tw@ts that they are absolutely childish! What on earth are they affraid of?
It's hard to comment much without really knowing what's gone on I can't really understand why any fan would be turned away from watching the Academy play but without knowing who made the decision or their reasons it's hard to say a lot. I always find Red Rain's write ups honest and interesting to read as a Barnsley fan - I used to watch some of the games years ago when I stayed in Barnsley on matchday weekends and it's good to know if we have any upcoming talent. My guess, and it is just that, is that someone may have felt that the honest assessment of some of the games and the individual write ups on players may possibly cause some upset if a player or family member read it if perhaps they weren't deemed to be one of our better players. Personally, I'm a fan of being honest and telling it like it is as some people on here will know, but it seems that that isn't always appreciated and I have learnt from that.
RE: I smell a rat I did not go to the game yesterday as we were visiting my in-laws in Orrell so I was really surprised at what appears to have gone on. I have been a big supporter of the academy since we moved back to the area, and in wanting the club to give the lads coming through an opportunity to progress. As I have said on here many times, I think there are players who given the opportunity will do okay at Championship level given time. That's just my opinion. However it appears from the actions taken yesterday that the club does not want supporters posting about the academy good bad or indifferent. With that in mind, I will keep my views/opinions of all matters "academy" to myself.
"Did he actually make any first team appearances" He Captianed the first team in one game nt great things were expected of him but he smaashed his knee in
