Police with automatic weapons on crowd control at a football match. In Barnsley. Am I alone in thinking that’s totally unnecessary and somewhat ridiculous? What’s the point? Even if there was a dust up, they wouldn’t shoot anyone...... Extra earner for the Polizei at our club’s expense.
I thought the armed police were there in case there was a terrorist incident. Terrorists tend to target large crowds and armed police might be necessary to neutralise them. Either that or the police wanted to show the players how to shoot.
Because despite being told that only a tiny minority of people are terrorists and want to kill us every gathering of more than eight people is automatically a target.
They were there in case Hecky came back for his old job, the armed officers were told to shoot on site
More likely, specific intelligence about a potential terror threat Were they in the ground? That is the policing the club pay for.
If you were a terrorist, would you pick a game in Barnsley or, say, Manchester? More likely specific lack of intelligence.....
Pays well for syp .. intelligence.. lol.. it's a psyop to reassure public .. they were at sheff u v Wensday few months sin ..
These are really thoughtless comments , I know you are being flippant but when these scum strike at a pop concert full of kids then you do not rule anything out & if any intelligence suggest that precautions should be employed then it should not be scoffed at
I’m afraid that is what is technically known as...nonsense! As is linking the two words British Intelligence.
There have been similar patrols in Meadowhall since the incidents of last year. I have advised Lady Kaht that Meadowhall is no longer safe to visit. Well, you've got to try, haven't you?
Don't talk *****. Haven't you learned yet that the t0ssers who want to kill will do it ANYWHERE? At a church, a shopping centre, a market, on a bridge, on a bus, at a kids concert. What harm did it do you today having somebody there to prevent it?
Becoming more and more common unfortunately- unnerving seeing them in Liverpool city centre over Christmas - better to be safe than sorry. Anybody is a viable target now where a crowd forms - who thought they'd hit Manchester arena
