Fair enough but I can see what good ingredients look like. I had Mawson down as a top player without a league game. Saw Stones against Sheff Wed Reserves ina 4-0 win at right back. Colgan in the net Branson, Potter Carlisle in defence. Said then. On way home said to my Grandad, will be brilliant.

Yes can see what you mean.
It's looking mighty impressive - other than I would have preferred at least another couple of strikers.
Hecky has indicated sort of the same.
Going to have to wait until January for that tho - and I can see that this will only be the position looked at in January.
Rest of the squad looks sound.

Full backs who focus almost exclusively on attacking are fine in a team that cost hundreds of millions and will dominate possession in every match. We don't have that luxury and so first and foremost we need our fullbacks to defend. Plus Yiadom is fine going forward.

I really think you should nip down and see about a job at the academy.

You also thought Kern Miller, Jamil Adam and Emmanuel Frimpong were going to be world beaters.

Genuine question HT. How many Barnsley players have you made early decisions on and gone on to change your mind and realise you were wrong?

We are all guilty of judging a player early and then only seeing that part of their game. For example I'm sure colace actually offered more for us than I thought he did but I just couldn't see it. How many have you decided early on would be amazing and changed your mind when they haven't done so well? Or how many have you written off early and changed your mind about?

Yep comparing our defenders with Man City defenders seems legitimate.

Can change my opinion at any time. NYS last season. did I think Matty James was a good footballer for Barnsley? Someone at Altringham said to me I would be cheering the loudest at a game because Lloyd Isgrove scored. I thought he was awful. Get him back to Southampton was the sort of thing I would have said with a lot more anger.

Remember the Polish goalkeeper we had from again Southampton that's at Ipswich now. We did well when he was in the net for us. I thought how we won a game with him.

Mason Holgate. Awful. I honestly thought he was horrendous. He was 16 and improved a lot.

So tell me how a guy who has yet to play a game for our first team gets selected ahead of a guy who is arguably our best full back and coveted by a number of premiership clubs?

    Asking for a friend.

Yiadom is our best player, Hedges is also near the top, but you've left both out. Other than that I can see the point you are trying to make. We've a strong squad, in numbers terms, it remains to be seen whether it will be strong in football terms.

The only downside I can see is that we could do with a few more goalkeepers. About 5 or so.

What the hell is happening here ??? !!!
Hemsy puts together two teams from the squad to try and show the strength of the squad.
He then receives a torrent of abuse.
    Why ???
Hemsie then tries to justify a positive post and deflect all this abuse.
It's stupid this - I just cannot understand it.

I can’t understand why he’s getting abuse about leaving Yiadom out. He’s currently injured & in all likelihood is on his way as soon as the transfer window opens

People jump on a HT post like I would jump on Carol Vorderman's arse. I actually agree that this is a positve post about our strength in depth, just hope there isn't an alterea motive RE Yiadom, as most people would agree that fully fit, he walks in our side. The game is all about opinions, the same should be said about this board.

No, no ulterior motive at all. Especially as he doesn't rate or like him. Mainly as he's popular.

Is this post just to show me the correct spelling of ulterior?
