Think you're about right. Hecky said he wanted 2 defenders (either 2 fullbacks or 1 CB and 1 FB), 2 wingers, 2 strikers and central midfielders different to what we've got. I make that 7-8.

You're happy with Hedges and Hammill as our only wingers, and Sessi as our only 'ball winning' type of midfielder?

Need at least 2 centre forwards imho. Not 'could play wide, can be a no.10' any of that new age b0llocks, proper forwards.

What if they were as good as Ricardo Vaz Te?

I might be wrong, but I feel that one or two of our own products such as Kay & Brown might make the step up & the new lad Williams.

We'll get 5 loans for start... just waiting to see how successful we are at attracting our permanents..

I'm hoping Brown breaks into 1st team. He's got all the skill if he can step up to men's football to be a great player. Also Payne - seeing as he stepped up from non league to championship and was thrown straight in he looked ok. Given a bit of time and a couple of goals at Shrewsbury, where he wasn't fully fit, and a full pre season to train with the 1st team I reckon he'll do far better this year. Dover to Championship was a huge ask in one step. He's 25 so let's hope he can develop further this year.

I'd still think the same. You can't have too many good players. 'ooh we've signed a quality utility forward, no need for anyone else' - seems a strange point of view.

Must be time for one or two of our "development squad" to step up to first team level. Or maybe they need another year?

Think we might see Louis Rowe knocking on't door.

I think we need 9 but at least 3 of those will be loans later in the window (perhaps Tyler Roberts or Harry's Wilson whom we were linked with earlier in summer)

I hope they do, but I struggle to see Sessi being our main defensive midfielder. Likewise, Hammill and Hedges being our only senior wide players seems unlikely. We'll bring in around 8 more, I reckon, with about three being loans.

My hope would be that we bring in two strikers from the better known teams in France.!
My mucker thought we'd signed a Dutchman yesterday. He saw a van parked up on Grove Street and thought
it had the players name down the side of it.

Hated to have to tell him that Hertz Van Rental was a vehicle hire company.!
