We've got a coal fire at home and the quality of the coal we get is absolute crap. Bags are full of muddy coal dust, the coal itself seems grey not the shiny black we used to get many years ago when it was Barnsley's best. I know it's probably imported, but I want to know what yours is like in Barnsley now. Do your suppliers still have access to local coal? Is there still such a thing as local coal? What's the quality of it now, does it leave shitty grey ash and coke when it has burned through? Do you remember when our coal was solid black, shiny, and people carved it into models and suchlike.
There still is local coal Well, local to England rather than Barnsley, although it's not always very easy to get your hands on it. I believe kellingley is still open and I think me dad gets it from another English pit too. The quality of the doubles is as good as ever but you'd be hard pressed to get cobbles these days. Some of the imported stuff is good, some not so good. A lot of the **** you find in the coal is due to where it has been stored rather than the coal itself, although you may be getting the rubbish that is intended for power stations rather than home use. If what you're getting is crap, change your supplier. There still is good coal out there. BTW EastStander, there's still thousands of coal fires out there. In 2020 when the gas has gone and we're having to pay well over the odds for the imported stuff, there'll be thousands more. Those of us in older houses will be able to re-open the chimney. Christ knows what those in new builds will do. good lord
RE: Yes. Burn Jay's 'silk' shirt. Before Billy Smart nicks it for a new big top. That should be enough to power Birdwell for a couple of years.
RE: Yes. Or just sit TM next to one of them theer wind thingymibobs. That would run Dillingers Flux Capacitor for months.
No. Michael J Fox is the lovechild of Jay & Dillinger. Looks 11 years old. Shakes like a shitting dog. You heard it here first.
If tha comes up early on a match day ...a bit of low order bell pit mining in the locality may reap a significant harvest of Silkstone.
