    That's 14k a week. When they were relegated from the Premier league, the emphasis was on them significantly reducing the wage bill, hence the signing of players like David Vaughan as opposed to the route Middlesbrough had taken.

    I can't see them then backtracking and offering a young, still fairly unproven manager £14k per week.

    But then again, it is the sun reporting it, so I'm 50/50.

    It's come from f'ing Alan King of Bullshite Nixon. Who makes statements as if they are fact. Then slithers away if they don't come true, and lauds it if they do.

    Last week he told us the takeover was a "done deal" - basically because of the media rebrand we all got excited about. He decided to state it was related to the takeover.

    Sunderland chairman Ellis Short as a net worth of 1 Billion... but he is trying to sell. if they drop again, that task will be impossible. Plus they were only relegated in May. So parachute payments agogo....
