He has won one promotion to the Championship and been managing for a couple of years. His career has taken him nowhere near the Premier League.

He is very clearly not the man for the job.

My favourite quote. All he's done in a couple of years is win promotion to the Championship - he hasn't even taken Barnsley to the Premier League! He MUST be useless

    Mixed opinions really.

One poster thinks his win percentage is "pap", but a few others are aware of how he has lost players and had to rebuild.

Some of them think they're a massive club and poaching managers from PNE and us is beneath them.

    Usual stuff really.

I think they're going to hang fire and see if Zidane leaves Real Madrid.

The guy who thinks he is pap has the brain power of some of our posters - his argument is

    Total games 92
    Won 38 - Win ratio 41%
    Drew 23
    Lost 31

Quite a few have pointed out that thats a lot better than any of their recent managers have managed and suggested street parties if he could come in and do that there.

I still think he would be mad to go there - its a different situation to when Bristol were after little Lee

68.5 pts a season. Win percentages mean feck all, ppg are the ones that count.

Too many ego's both on the pitch and in the stands at Sunderland. He'd be getting dog's abuse after the first month if he goes up there. Is it worth it? Not in my book!

    I'm not reading it.

I remember the comments last year when they were linked with Alfie Mawson. None of them could see past his 5 championship appearances.

Can someone just clarify - how many points are we behind Sunderland? I'm guessing between ten and twenty judging by some of the posters on there.

Nothing that does appear on here everytime we look to bring in a lower league manager or player, its just football fans the world over, we all think our club is the be all n end all of the world sadly unless you support the likes of a Barcelona or Real Madrid it ain't, so why worry, it wont change anything

Some of their comments..jeez. Forgot they were the Galacticos of English footbal. Typical comments from football fans with limited knowledge of football outside the greed league. Apart from a couple of seasons, Sunderland were abject in the premiership nearly every season until the last 5 games, when they suddenley stopped cheating the fans and pulled their fingers out. It were a common sight on MOTD seeing their ground empty at half time when they were 4 nil down. And where are they sat now, bottom of the championship getted dicked 3 nil at our place along the way.
Hecky may go there, but for money and nothing else. We will carry on, doing things the right way, no man is bigger than this club.

Will always compare themselves to Newcastle, so on that basis they'll be thinking they can get a manager that's recently left a big European club.
