Tbh assuming we dont slip up in the next few games and they overtake us they'll deserve it....after losing today with extra time being played, they are playing again on Wednesday, Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday, Friday, Monday, Saturday, Tuesday,Saturday...no breaks....one heck of a punishing schedule.

What else I find bizarre is they arent traveling back to the north east until tomorrow, probably a full working day traveling so no game preparation. I’d imagine they’re back in training Tuesday to then travel again to Accrington. As well as the fatigue from that 120 minutes surely the road miles are going to play there part also, I wouldn’t be shocked to see wednesdays game being too much for them.

Thing is Accrington aren't very good though. I expect Sunderland to beat them tbh

Remember the 'reverse' fixture a month ago though, Accy more than matched them and it finished 2-2.

I love Accrington Stanley but it really will.be back to earth with a bump for Sunderland and the travelling fans!

Basically the fans have had an expensive piss up. They could have done that in their local park!

Let's not forget Portsmouth here! Feel good factor must be pretty good there right now.

We lose one match, Portsmouth win one match, and suddenly all bets are off.

I think it's great what they've done, they were really welcoming towards us and they tried to play football. And yes, it is done to the advert lol!

Won't be easy for Sunderland. They have just been on TV, played in front of the biggest crowd the tournament has ever seen and at the national stadium. Now after a defeat they have to try and pick themselves up for as early as Wednesday night when it's not on TV and in front of a few thousand in a tiny little ground, for a total change of scenery.

Had they beat Pompey then Wednesday wouldn't have been able to come quick enough for them to carry on the momentum. They looked shattered from two hours on the huge pitch of our national stadium. Their mid week match will be far from easy.

Don't worry about Sunderland, they will still be behind us after their next three games.
