    Question about the latest rules....
During the original lockdown my elderly parents self isolated as the rules dictated and we did the Tesco shopping for them.
Since then we have been taking them for the weekly shop which I think my mum in particular looks forward to - she won’t leave my dad at home as he has dementia and would be nervous of leaving him.
Can we still take them masked up in the car to do their own shopping?

I’m unsure on this too... I have been taking my daughter plus two friends to college, on the day i have to be in the office - which is just up the road from the college. I am not sure if I am supposed to do this anymore. The alternative is that the three of them end up on buses and trains. Surely it is better that we maintain our group of four, than sending three people onto a combination of four buses and two trains each per day - to then be taught in the same bubble when they arrive.

I’m also only allowed to see my eldest outside.. can see her at her football match because i’m a coach and she’s a player; but I’m not allowed to give her a lift to the station... yet she can get a taxi with a stranger??

I would think so ATYKE. Wife's Dad is in his 80's and has Parkinson's and lives alone after we lost
Mum four years ago. We phoned Age Concern to check where we stood in going into his home in
Doncaster from our home in Wakefield. He is classed as vulnerable so we can accompany him to
do his shopping, unless he gives my wife a list and she does it, whilst I remain with him at home.

I would guess if you are taking Mum to do her shop and Dad is vulnerable due to his unfortunate
condition, you are within your rights to take Dad along with you. I would give Age Concern Barnsley
a bell to check what help you are able to do offer your support, without breaking the Tier 2 guidelines.

Supermarkets have benefited massively from covid. Must have the highest profits for years after bojo handed them a monopoly on retail.

I checked this theory last week ST and I reckon my weekly shop has almost doubled this year.

I think most of that are just thevm unintended consequences of poorly thought out generalised rules.

And it’s set to get worse once the no deal with the EU comes along.

were they ok on day 16? ... i agree with your point I’d throw in those businesses such as ASOS who did not need to remain open back on day 1

Again they were a Boris backed company just like Amazon. Thus virus has played right into his hands, it's done just what we all know he wants. Made the rich richer and the poor poorer.

I’ve started playing squash with my cousin. Just the two of us. We started at York Uni and quickly realised that probably wasn’t the smartest move - so it proved as they just had an outbreak of 121 cases.

Switched to Pontefract last week and was surprised how many older people turned up at 9am to play. Part of me thought good on them but at the same time I was worried about the category they belong to.

Tell the kids you are all going to Oak Furniture Land for the day.

What a delight. Can sit where ever they want without getting strapped in.

So much better than seeing an 8ft mute. cartoon mouse

Probably fitter than most if they play squash.

Definitely fitter than some but I don't think this was a fast pace and more of an 'Elders Class' with an instructor. Still good though.
