He told me (I didn't know this) that he is a season ticket holder with his wife and he has paid 1600 pounds, YES 1600 POUNDS, this season for two season tickets !!!!! I didn't tell him I'd paid £150 for mine. He is watching as much live football as me, on Ifollow or whatever they have, so where is the comparison? We are really quite fortunate when you consider, but what it tells me is that there is a major difference between our two clubs and how they are run and how they have been run. Which one would you prefer right now?
You should have told him you'd only paid £150. £800 is a disgrace for Championship football - especially at that level i.e lower Championship football lol I'd definitely rather be RED
Who in their right mind would pay £800 to sit in a dilapidated stadium watching the mediocre fare that's being served up at Hillsborough this season.? Just shows how privelidged our Senior Citizen supporters are. We are charged £6.52 per home game whilst your Fowls mate is paying just under £35 per fixture. For me Mr Badger in answer to your question, I have always preferred supporting Barnsley in deference to any other club in the area. I have to qualify that statement though by saying that if our owners wanted me to pay £800 for a Season ticket (a) purely on principle I wouldn't pay it, because (b) in the scheme of things with the addition of transport to and from Oakwell, programme, snacks and drinks I couldn't justify spending circa £60 every other weekend on Football.
For £800 I'd want a guaranteed place in the starting line-up...it would be a good move for them at the moment.
For eight hundred pounds I'd expect to be sat in a heated, leather armchair at Oakwell, having Victoria Coren Mitchell & Bettany Hughes feeding me wine and curries!
It's a bargain price to watch the biggest club in the universe. Wednesday have at least ten billion fans locked out every home game, and the capacity of Hillsborough is only a couple of million. You have to be prepared to pay a premium fee to guarantee your seat for Pep Pulis' attractive, attacking football.
I didn’t think they sold season tickets at that club they season? I thought one of my mates told me earlier in the year they didn’t get the option to renew.
It's possible that your mate missed it. Wednesday always renew a lot earlier than we do. The renewal packs for the 20/21 season were sent out in 1968.
Major differences are this: No matter where they are or what happens they believe to a man (or women) that as a club they belong in the Premier. And because of that their support is far bigger than Barnsley’s.
Jesus, those prices are mental. And the saving on buying a 5 year ticket is so negligible it's almost insulting.
Don't know why. They've spent the same amount of time in the Premier League as Charlton, Wigan and Wimbledon (8 seasons).
