Not just you I've just endured some of the Nadal Muller match and every game was a carbon copy of the previous game utter tripe only another week and it's gone for a year thank the good Lord
Turned on Beeb 1 to listen to t'news while I mek mi tea but tennis is on instead. **** me, is the Romanian one constipated or summat, the sounds she's making I can only relate to toilet visits after I went on a carb free diet a few years back.
Great we are getting exited about an aussie making the semi's there's a jock who could also make it as well
All a matter of opinion - It can be if its a poor game but you can say that about almost any sport. Personally I enjoy watching it if the players are playing well and hitting good shots - that was the case with the Nadal Muller game yesterday and again with the match Konta has just won. Some people think cricket is boring or golf or even football - I like most sports but do struggle with Darts or snooker and easily fall asleep when watching them
There are 2.8bn channels currently operating in the U.K. Or you could turn the telly off. So many choices.
I love Wimbledon. It's the one time of the year you can watch porn with the volume up and your neighbours just think you're watching the tennis
I've been watching Simona Haleps straight sets victory over the young American player Coco Gauff. Incredible to think that the latter is still only 15 years of age. They were saying in commentary that up to now, Coco's career earnings were around £60k, but for reaching the last 16 at Wimbledon, she will recieve around £175k. She's already been snapped up by Roger Federers TEAM8 Agency and coupled with sponsorship deals with Head and New Balance, if she can maintain her early promise and eventually become a dominant force in the game, her projected earnings could well top £100 million over a ten year period, thus outstripping Serena Williams's current earnings. Absolutely fantastic prospects for the young lass in the future and well deserved. Hopefully though she's allowed to enjoy her life and is encouraged to have other interests outside of the game. If she can eliminate some on the double faults and other unforced errors at critical points in the game, going forward, there's no reason why she can't become a regular winner of the sports major titles.
Strange one for me, I quite like tennis and used to play a lot in my youth. But I'm not a fan of Wimbledon, especially the mens game with huge serves half the time and no actually play.
I used to play a lot when I I was younger and really enjoyed it.Watching it has proved to be a different kettle of fish. I have enjoyed games in the past from some of the great players and characters but the modern game does nothing for me at all, with the (very) odd exception The constant exaggerated grunting in the women’s game are sooo annoying and the power serves in the men’s game with few rallies boring
Gauff the hype job is out so not all bad. Sooner the men drop to three sets for equal rights the better.
absolutely 100% NOT monotonous. each to their own.....love the game and wimbledon has to be one of the best sporting events in the calendar. tension, excitement, fine margins, great skill, endurance, mental toughness....nowt like it!!
