Makes you wonder if the 'money that turned the owners head' was him looking after the club fearing (perhaps in his heart of hearts knowing?) the worst?

I'm not sure whether Mr Cryne wanted the fans to know this terrible news. From what I know of him probably not, he's certainly never done any of the masses he's done for the club to raise his own profile.

If anybody reading this can get a message back to him, this fan, and I hope the rest of this board, and all other fans, wish him all the best, all the luck and all the strength to fight in the world.

******* disease that it is, it can sometimes be beaten. It might take you in the end, Patrick, but don't let it break your spirit. All the very best.

As for the wendies game, Patrick Cryne day? At least sing our hearts out for him. Championship, league one, whatever, without him we'd probably not have a club, and if we did it might well be called AFC Barnsley or something and kicking around the non leagues.

Mr Cryne, I for one will be eternally grateful. I hope that you can prove the medics wrong and beat the ***** out of the horrible thing inside you.

Top post is that agree with it all. Patrick has not only done so much for our football club but for the town of barnsley having a championship football club as opposed to none at all gets the town busy especially on big game days it creates jobs and keeps folk in them. Sam winnall took the attention away from rimmos day let's make the wednesday game about patrick and forget winnall.

Dead right mate. Who really gives a toss about individual players? It's the club and Patrick that matter.

Gutted to hear this news. Best wishes to Mr Cryne and his family as they come to terms with this.
