just seen they are showing Chelsea/Norwich FA Cup replay after showing two 3rd round ties that ended in draws, Fleetwood/Leicester and Shrewbury/West Ham. *******.
Aren't all replays by definition the result of games ending in draws? That said I'd take a replay of our match versus Millwall at our place if offered.
Why? I'd have thought Leicester and West Ham would be heavy favourites to win whereas Chelsea might be vulnerable to an upset if they get arrogant and play a weakened team. Personally I wouldn't want to watch any of the three games.
Why? Bit of variety... I'd guess there's only so much pre-game analysis you can do on teams you only covered a couple of weeks ago.
"Aren't all replays by definition the result of games ending in draws?" "No" Explain. That's how the cup has worked since time began. The game you're referring to was a league game and was abandoned, which means the match was void - never existed. The eventual match was just that - the original game, not a replay.
I think BT get first dibs and they chose Leicester/Fleetwood tie. I'd imagine the Beeb thought West Ham v Shrewsbury will attract around 20,000 attendance in a stadium that holds 60,000 and that the atmosphere would be ***** no matter how much hyperbole they gave it.
60 mins had been played in the first instance, so 60 mins of the replayed game was replayed the other 30 plus mins hadn`t. Hee hee good this innit.
No it didn't. We played Plymouth away just the once. No replay, as every statistical source will show.
