I'm very very sad to hear the latest on this terrible news
Talking to CC you just wouldn't think anything bad of the guy.
He's a well spoken intelligent bloke.
But obviously there's something seriously wrong and he needs medical attention.
He dosen't need to be strung up like many on here have said - what he does need is medical help
Remember, a large percentage of people that go into this sort of thing have had some bad experience done to them when they were children themselves.

But where does this put people that know him - for example, what relationship will he have now with the London Tykes ???

The latest revelations has put many people in a very awkward position

No it hasn't you just never ever talk to him or have anything to do with him again, he is a pervert and in my opinion should be strung up well spoken or not. He is a repeat offender for christs sake, he is one sick Barsteward! (Excuse the language but there should be zero tolerance policy with this stuff)

I for one have sympathy for people that have a mental illness.......which this is

Are we saying that we all should march into the nearest mental institution and string all the patients up in there.

No of course not........those in there need psychiatric help...........and so does CC

I agree with that. But, has he gone for any help? It doesn't appear so, and that makes it worse I think.

He's made his bed and now must lie in it, what individual members of the London Tykes do going forward is a matter each of them personally, not the group.

I know what I'll be doing

I dont know how this works.............but

If it was up to me people found quilty of crimes like these should be sectioned straight away and help should come automaticely
You usually find that peole that commit these crimes do not beleive there is anything wrong with them, so obviously they wont seek voluntary help

He's pleaded guilty both times, so he knows it's wrong, but he won't seek help. Yes, I believe he should have been sectioned by the courts, but you can't lay all the responsibility with them.

Not necessarily the case, alot of these people are the most calculating people you will ever meet. I think Mr Corke has already proved that with the number of people he managed to sucker into believing the incident was a one off

He wants locking up, are you saying he doesn't know that its sick because his original statement says he knows he is in the wrong and yet he does it again.

If I stood in the middle of Barnsley bus station throwing newspapers in the air

I would be assessed and sectioned
Like I said I dont know how this works, but for a much more serious mental illness as this SURELY the process is to get the person sectioned

I feel sorry for

The poor kids in the photos.

Its not a spur of the moment crime. These crimes are committed by the individual actively searching out images and to a further degree "grooming" children to meet them.

Its calculated and considered. Every step of the way.

I met him once

In the Courthouse, pre match last season. Didn't know who he was, but he knew who I was (somehow). Had a couple of pints with him then walked up to Oakwell with him. Seemed like a decent enough bloke.

Didn't know until I saw the picture in the Chronicle today that I was having a couple of beers with a convicted criminal. Horrible thought, when I look back.

I have given people second chances loads of time but i just cannot get my head around how anyone could in this instance. It's child pornography for christs sake, totally unforgivable reagrdless of what flannel he gave to excuse it

There's a difference...

You plead guilty because you know you've broken the law (and usually because you're hoping for leniency).

NOT because you know that what you've done is wrong.

Again, the blame cannot be held with the courts entirely. The man knows he is sick, he needs to take responsibility for his own actions. A serial rapist has a mental health issue, but no one feels sorry for them. So why feel sorry for him?
