What is everyone’s thoughts? I’ve just got in and it would appear I cannot visit my grandchildren or receive a visit from them for the foreseeable future. But I can spend all day with perfect strangers in a pub until 10pm.
The constant flip-flopping, "only socialise where there's a till", and a certain trip to Barnard Castle have basically made all rules moot in my opinion. Not saying they should be, but the majority of people will just ignore them I feel. Which is worrying, because the virus is picking up. Government's response to COVID will be studied by future generations as a complete failure.
These rules make about as much sense as my youngest having to self isolate for 2 weeks because someone in his class has tested positive as oppose to him getting a test, it coming back negative, and him only missing 3 days of school rather than 10 with all the extra upheavel involved. Well thought out rules now mean we're a nurse short for a week.
50 pensioners can meet up in a church 50 overweight vulnerable Tories can meet up for a shoot If a family of four wants to visit their sister's house who has a kid then one of them has to wait in the car. Absolute joke. It's embarrassing that 4 months later this video is as relevant and accurate as the day it was created
My eldest has been told that their uni in liverpool (john moore) is now doing the course "on line" for her second year....no tutoring and an accommodation bill of £500 per month for her digs. So, as she says what the hell are they paying for exactly? And yet high school kids have to attend....mmmmmm.
No problems accepting these rules but one i cant understand is the one where places of worship are still ok.Surely the gathering in churches and mosques etc to pray is something that can be done at home. Theres no economic reason they should stay open is there?
It's a very American approach and pure politics really, plays to the God, country, patriotism b*llocks. Now if a congregation of church goers wanted to go grouse shooting whilst bible bashing?!
Just so you know, my dad made reference to this post earlier (so he must spend all day in his retirement reading this site) and that he thought it was quite hilarious
Yea. I'm sure I've seen in places conducting these type of "meetings' online too. However, dont be fooled by how much money is sloshing around in some religious settings..... especially as most of them plead more poverty than the poorest they also claim to help.... Controversial opinion I know
Not sure there is a lot of difference between sitting socially distanced in a church to in a pub to be fair. Yes it can be done at home and services done by zoom /you tube but I’ve also been doing virtual zoom pubs. Wonder if services are allowed after 10pm though. Eg a midnight mass? Think there are far bigger inconsistencies than that one. Like the feeding vs shooting Ducks one above. Or that if two families want to meet and there are more than 6 they can’t but 6 from different households can
Aye, you’re right, I’ve been a massive Boris advocate from the outset, it’s clear from all my posts. Joking apart though - you started this by saying how ludicrous the rules in Scotland are - Sturgeon literally has exec powers to set them - and yet ‘she’s just doing her best to sort out the mess’. Which is it?
