Manchester: locals coming out to try to help. Taking people into their homes. Sympathy and shock all round. London: people getting in front of the news cameras, smiling laughing and waving. Nobhead wheelying his bike past armed police while ambulances rush by
Different breed ST. Never forget first time my Company sent me to London on business. Waiting for the Tube to Baker Street. Some poor soul decided to end it all by jumping under an oncoming train. I was absolutely traumatised. I'm from a small mining community in South Yorkshire where folk rally round and genuinely do care one for the other. When I finally got to the venue about an hour late I must have still looked shocked cos the receptionist asked if I was alright. I told her what had happened. She threw her head back laughed and said " don't let it worry you Sir it's an every day event round here." I was gobsmacked.
On a lighter note, I was working in Vauxhall a few years back and got a red bus into town as a change from the tube. Paid my fare and nodded and muttered 'alreet' to my fellow downstairs pasengers. Two looked at me like I was daft, most looked uncomfortably at the window and 3 women got their stuff and moved upstairs. I felt like licking windows all journey. Sent from my SM-T800 using Tapatalk
