Linton brown..... Does anybody actually know what went off there then?? The way he just left midway through the transfer window seemed really odd at the time
Absolutely no idea what happened. The conclusion to jump to is that we lost Winnall and Morsy when we really shouldn't have done and that cost him his job. Whether there's even a grain of truth in that or not, I've no idea. I'm of the opinion that if that was the case, you can understand why, but that doesn't mean it's right.
We will never know the truth. People will gossip about him not getting us Morsy, but we have people above that position who can overule if they so please.
I was under the impression that although he officially left the same day that Winnall did in reality he had left the club weeks before
Nothing to support this but a theory: In December 2016 BFC released a statement saying we had recruited Ian Flammery without the correct and proper checks (DBS) etc to work in the academy. In Jan 2017 he was released, could it be he took the blame for not making sure the checks were completed? Like I say nothing to back up except close timings and they way he left suggests something
I believe he LEFT as he wanted to keep Winnall until end of the season. I believe he told Winnall that and Hecky. Winnall wasn’t happy. Folk above Linton were happy to cash in and get shut (no love lost was there). So basically he got overruled. I therefore believe Linton left himself, not sacked, because he lost face and wasn’t backed in that situation. This is what I believe, but again, it could be all wrong. I think most folk accept that Winnall forced the move through......
