Gi'oer. He's not saying that at all as anyone can see.

I understand what your point is , but surely if the focus is on the next game , then you need your head coach in place & fully focussed on the very same

I am afraid that I have to agree with you OxRed on this one. It would be a massive blow to lose Heckingbottom, of that there is no doubt. But managers come and go just like players, always have and always will. But our owner is battling a terminal illness and has said himself that he is unlikely to be with us at the end of this season. That to me means the issue of the ownership IS more important than the issue of whether we retain the manager, no matter how much we all hope that Hecky stays. If we lose Hecky we replace him. The replacement may not be as good and we may suffer in the immediate future as a result but we would recover. If we don't sort the issue of ownership and get it right we are in the shite good and proper.

If the comment in the OP had been posted by anyone other than HT I am certain that we would not now be on a second page full of bile. Some people need to stop with this jumping down his throat on every thread he posts just because it was him that posted it. Take a breath and move on to the next post if you don't agree with what he has put. God knows he does post some crap, but I don't think this was one of those occasions, I really don't.

Behave. HT always refers to Hecky as "he" as if he can't stand to speak his name. To be honest I couldn't give a **** about his opinions but it makes me laugh when people try and defend him claiming there's no ulterior motive.

There is obviously truth in what you are saying but look at the choice of words.

‘I prefer not to hear if he’s staying or not.’

He’s not saying any of what you suggest whatsoever.

You might be right about the pages of response - but nobody else would say what he does. I used to try to ignore him, I’ve tried to offer friendly advice, I’ve even tried to give the benefit of the doubt and assume he had good intentions at times.

There is nothing wrong with his headline - the long term future is definitely of more importance generally - but it’s the content and the intent he has in doing it.

I’m sorry but given everything that has come before from HT I am in no doubt as to what his intentions were here.

I am not for one second denying that there might be an ulterior motive behind what he wrote. He may well not rate Hecky and that may well be the driving force behind the point he made.

It doesn't change the fact though that, in my opinion, in this instance what he said about the takeover issue being more important than the manager issue was correct. If people weren't so one eyed when it comes to HT then perhaps in the cold light of day, more people would agree with that opinion. Like I said, if the opinion in the thread had been expressed by anyone other than Hemsworth, would we now be on a second page of bile?

Ok so the keeping the one person that d galvanised the club isnt important. But yet a completely unknown quantity is important

You're often persecuted for been correct on this occasion you're dramatically wrong

His second point makes the first one irrelevant to my mind. It's all contrived to get a dig in at "him" and wind folk up. Let's face it, if you don't like Hecky you're a pillock.

I was getting worried then reading the first few responses but I'm pleased to see a few aren't ready for the battle weapons to come and cut my head off every time they see my post.

If he Mr Heckingbottom goes then he would have done well. If he stays he can continue doing good in many of your eyes. Little changes for many.
If he goes then we can go in a different direction of thing I posted about recently to try and get a European head coach that can help us exploit a market such as happened at Huddersfield last season. I would like to see us get someone in with Ligue 2 connections ideally

You look at teams like Swansea and Southampton. They lost or sacked managers but the plans the important thing.

Whichever happens not that bad, You agree?

The ownership in my opinion only's 100 times that severity. It's massive to how the club grows in the medium term and further.

People need to remember it's an opinion. No need to be nasty. Am I been nasty to you? of course not.

Hemsworth Tyke has been completely exposed as a wind-up merchant, plain and simple. Absolutely NOT a Barnsley fan; just the worst kind of forum troll. Got caught out a couple of weeks back. Can’t believe he’s still on here peddling his ****.

I cant defend Hemsworth on this one, he's totally lost the plot. Hecky is, and always will be while he's here, the most important bloke at the club. He's one of the best young managers in Britain.

Hemmsy still shouldn't be banned though. You can't compare anything he puts on here to the vile drivel that Nudger comes up with about Cryne.

Vile drivel? Ever so slightly OTT.

For some on here, Patrick Cryne has reached a point where he can no longer be critiqued - never mind criticised.

The trouble is Phil that it isn’t just your opinion, it’s continuous inflammatory posting designed mainly to irritate. Don’t try and paint people as nasty when you are harbouring the responses that you crave. If you genuinely didn’t want it then you wouldn’t post as you do, or maybe not at all.

Anyway, that aside, let’s have a reasonable response to the above quoted post as it is not a further example of that, it’s a genuine opinion. Good stuff.

My thoughts. For every example of a successful foreign managerial appointment in this division, there are two or three failures. At least.

We’ve had a European manager before. Icelandic. Wasn’t too great after starting off well.

I’m no xenophobe and I’ve no issue whether any future manager is from Cudworth or Kazakhstan.

But I don’t want anyone than Hecky at this moment in time.

And why on earth would we want to focus on players from the French second division? The championship is the richest, most diverse and highest quality second tier in any football league system in the world. Streets ahead of the French equivalent. The top six of any given season would compete comfortably in the top tier of any other country - I, like you, am not a premier league hater. It is the most competitive top division in Europe. This year city are well in front of the rest but in any given season there are realistically five or six potential champions, and all twenty sides are well capable of beating each other. There’s not too many tough away fixtures for PSG, nor Bayern, or Real/Barca. They essentially have freebie fixtures.

Other than the very richest, the French league is not strong. Teams in the lower half of ligue 1 would not be competing at the top end of our second tier never mind their best ligue 2 sides.

Given we have Ganaye at the club, I’d see appointing a French manager (or one with knowledge of the French league) as akin to throwing all your eggs in one basket.

If and when we’re bought we should strengthen our scouting network in all markets, including France and the rest of Europe, but the manager/head coach should primarily have intimate knowledge of the English second tier not the French one.

The man is dying of cancer and Nudger cant seem to grasp why that might just be a little bit more important to him and his family than football.
