If this happens I don’t think it’s too far fetched to expect Matty James, Harvey Barnes, Ashley Fletcher, Oliver McBurnie, and Josh Brownhill on four and a half year deals by tea time.

    I've heard this one too.
RAC will confirm all the above or I'm a true blue.

The difference is you could see that Williams and Gardener had some quality and potential. Thiam has none of these , he just doesn't look or move like a professional footballer . We havent got the time or luxury to see if he comes good . Please God let the move to Trabzonspor be true .

So when people boo'd hecky for taking him off it was because he showed no quality nor potential? And he didnt move like a player for 10mins. Every other time ive seen him at home he makes better runs off ball than most players up top its just that noone was willing to look forward for that killer ball through. Mallan might add that to team..

I remember that home game well. I watched highlights after match and it was thiam on them all. Whether it was him having shot or being involved in build up play with clever flicks. Thats the player he could be if given more time in a 4-4-2 not a cameo appearance when we have 10 men. Which yes, he shouldve showm more committment in them minutes for the sake of the team.

If we make any sort of profit on Thiam I'll be amazed.

Do same with Moncur and Potts and we’ve got a nine million pound bargain

Ha ha ha. I would give Gauthier a pass for life if he managed to pull that off.

Regardless of what anyone thinks of Thiam it would be a remarkable bit of business if true just a shame it can’t be reinvested in this window as it’s too late I’d imagine

Maybe international transfers work differently? Or maybe the French FA have different rules?

This is very harsh. Due to no creativity in central midfield & injuries to wingers our strikers have had barely any service, even Bradshaw who’s managed to bag a few hasn’t looked up to much in open play. Just not enough service

He's had enough opportunities to prove himself and he's failed miserably . Like Hecky said he doesn't attack the ball in the box so service to him is irrelevant . He's been here 6 months and he still isn't fit . Running around for 10 minutes and shooting at every opportunity from 30 yards isn't the blue print of a pro footballer . Part of a strikers job description is score some goals , well I rest my case .

We spent a million quid on him and he should really be starting every game like Bradshaw. I think he's looked promising a couple of times in spells. He just really pissed me off last match walking around after he lost the ball after coming on as a sub.

Regardless of all That, it would treble our outlay on half a season for a player who has mainly made cameo appearances.

It's also daft and not going to happen and fair game to have a bit of a joke about.

    This.
It’s ridiculous the amount of flack that Cavare and Thiam have taken after the Fulham game.

Service to him isn’t irrelevant. I agree he should be better in the box but service isn’t only about crosses into the box.

When you watch Thiam it’s pretty obvious he’s best as a secondary striker linking play & with the likes of Potts & Moncur playing behind him the quality’s not been there. He needs to be getting the ball in positions between the centre circle & the penalty box where he can combine with the wingers & play off the main striker.

To me he is fit & has looked it since the start of December, I’d agree that it’s a poor reflection on him that it took him 4-5 months to get up to standard.

Maybe you disagree & think he’s had good service but I don’t & I’d like to see both Thiam & Bradshaw get a chance playing off a Moore or Fletcher type with Isgrove, Mahoney, Knasmüllner etc supplying them.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that none of our strikers have looked good this season, even though Bradshaw’s scored a few he’s had a couple of pen’s & a couple of debatable goals in there. I’d suggest scouts think the issues with lack of service as well seen as our strikers are getting linked with moves away.

He has a great touch, needs someone to play off, not sure he will get goals consistently enough, he still can't last a full game but has run more than i think he ever has anywhere else since he got here.

I am one of the people who likes the guy, but i honestly don't know why! He has a great knack of playing others in, if they are there to want the ball & clever enough to read it, but his work rate will never suit Hecky & i would have thought this was just another transfer rumour, BUT, his attitude when he came on on Saturday would give me an idea that something was brewing & he showed that with that short cameo, it appeared that he wanted away rather than fight for his place.

Not sure if i'm disappointed he's going & that we still don't know of his potential, or relieved we managed to triple our money on a guy who wasn't bothered??
