    Have you ever been to rhyl. People say barnsley is run down but it makes barnsley look like Beverly hills awful place.

    Know what you mean, its unbelievably run down and deprived now. Not the only resort to suffer to be fair though.

    Went there on holiday in 1980, nearly 6 years old, enjoyed it as far as I can remember. Don't know if my memory is playing tricks on me, but I seem to think that there was some kind of monorail train along the promenade for a fair old distance.

    I went in the late 70s and all I can remember is a massive thunderstorm while we were on the beach! Been a few times over the last 20 years and IIRC Rhyl was no different to Cleethorpes or Skegness except the visitors all had scouse accents. (It is in Scouse Wales). I think Rhyl is still better than Prestatyn or Tallacre.
