Used to be a place of fun, humour,nonsense and a bit of stuff about BFC. Now it's a place of utmost misery. People dragging each other down, and worst of all, dragging down the club we're all supposed to love. People going out of their way to prove someone else wrong or make them look silly. A place where people come on just to prove that they were right about how crap all things to do with the club are. A place where people who try to show a sense of calmness and reasoning are labelled "happy clappers" so that their views can be disregarded. What kind of mentality is that? This place is being over run with negative people just trying to sensationalise defeats, and crap speculation. Any speculation that is negative will do, because not being negative means you're not concerned enough, or are too accepting. (I'm not referring to the natural expression of disappointment which we are all entitled to). It's the excessive jump on the defeat bandwagon .... It's really tiresome, and in my view is playing a part in dragging the club down. These should be positive times, but the impatience of some fans to wait and see where we are once the transfer window is done, is alarming. Give the new owners a chance!
Well said, Fired. I rarely post on here these days. I can't believe the stick Redarmychris has been getting. As a young lad I used to stand in the Brewery Stand and my mate used to call it the grumbler's end. Nowt's changed!!
What do you expect? We've won 1 in about 12 or sommet, we lost to Millwall 4-1 and we're playing like turd. 7 Days in, no signings, 4-5 departures. It's all a bit baffling.
I agree, but none of us are perfect and after a defeat it's possible that some of us, including me, can overreact to the slightest provocation. We're all down about it, because we all support the same team. And by the way, you've missed out a comma before "nonsense" in your first sentence.
Bang on. Its been gradually happening for a few years. And with it a fair few number of decent posters have either left or just hardly ever post.
I agree, thing is yes we shouldn’t get mullered by Millwall, but they are in a good run of form but hardly anybody has mentioned it was only 2-1 when we went down to 10 men . I certainly wouldn’t want some of the posters on here as my boss I know that. They must st be pretty **** hot at their own jobs
The "I want it and I want it NOW" generation. There are some long unhappy lives to be lived out there. Cos sooner or later theyll find themselves living in the real world.
A total overreaction. Most posters are straight on top of those clamouring for Hecky to go. Most know the new owners need more than 3 weeks to get things moving. Most know that staying up this season is a miracle Most know that the recruitment was not good enough. Some will have differing views on why.
Great post Fired , you have summed up all my thoughts & put them into words , because I try my best to be positive , I am regularly accused of being a happy clapper or blowing up the clubs arse , thankfully , I am long in the tooth & have rawhide skin so insults do not penetrate , but I can fully understand why people are reluctant to post their thoughts
These are dark times at Barnsley. Or should that be - we are just coming out of dark times? We have just endured 13 years of stagnation - the last straw being a winning team dismantled and sold. We haven't yet recovered from the fire sale - to the extent we might be relegated because of it. Plus of course - we have a manager that is in constant demand - which must be unsettling for him and the players. But on the positive side - we have some decent good players at the club right now - and they will get better. And most importantly - at long long last we have owners that can compete in the Championship.
There are a lot of great posters on here and I still enjoy reading daily and someone always makes me laugh. The few that post negative rubbish I ignore and if a few more did I'm sure they'd get the message and it would improve things slightly. It's still a good site and i must have been here for 4 years plus and found it used to be very clicky which was difficult for new posters to join in, it's a lot more open now. You BBS.
I think it’s always been the same , in fact it used to be a lot worse on the previous incarnation of the BBS , particularly when when we weren’t doing so well
Seems to me that people are taking loyalty to the manager a bit far. The loyalty in itself is great, and it's quite a novelty to most reds fans who would sack a manager at the drop of a hat, but in their defence of Hecky some people are hammering the club as the reason for him not winning football matches. I can understand that to an extent, but now it's extending to include the current regime that's only been here two minutes.
I’m not including the current regime. They’ve not had any opportunity to show how they can repair the damage done in the last two windows. And neither has Hecky. We aren’t in the bottom 3 with a squad recruited well Below Championship standard. It’s going to be nip and tuck but so far we will just scrape in. Hopefully improving the chances by bringing some more ready players in in Jan.
