Went at them like a battering ram from the off and got the goal (although I missed the first 5 minutes due to way too many nice pubs) then not a lot happened until we made the subs. Bradford never looked like scoring (other than a cracking volley by Cavare and a great reaction stop to by Davies to keep it out, the only thing he had to do all day) and neither did we really, but we didn't have to as we were 1-0 up. I thought that's how it was going to end. Then Moncur and Adeboyejo were brought on and the former set up the latter for the second with a brilliant run (although he did shoot rather than cross). They both looked great, and we outclassed Bradford for the final twenty minutes. Brilliant save to keep out Bradshaw's excellent flicked header from a perfect Mowatt corner. Top class football all round. We've looked much bigger and stronger than both the teams we've played so far, our pressing up the field has been first class and our passing, for the most part, quick and decisive. We play as a team rather than rely on the skill of an individual. We've now got a cup game, but I wouldn't make too many changes as I'd like us to keep winning. I would rest Bradshaw and Moore though. I'd bring them straight back next Saturday, but I'd like to see how long Moncur can last, if we can get 70 minutes out of him rather than just 20 minute cameos, and I'd want to reward Adeboyejo with a start to keep up his confidence. Well played again Reds. Near perfect away performance.
What happened to that detailed academic tome on why we would likely struggle this season? Has it gone back to the publishers for minor editorial tweaks?
It's funny around this time last year after Sheff Utd away I came on here and used that exact term. It might be the league below but it feels so good to be winning again!
Good summary. They may consider giving Walton and/or Jackson a start as well Edit McGeehan defo needs game time
I think our subs are going to be very important this season. Pressing is a big drain on our energy and we need the subs to give us a second wind.
