That last 15 minutes, talking about the role of GMP and Social Services. That was the scary bit, institutional failure on a massive scale. Who paid for it with their jobs, the whistleblowers, the good guys. How will that help stop this happening again? Not ashamed to say I was in bits by the end.
I've seen this sort of stuff first hand. It was a brilliant drama, some of the acting was first class. Like you, the last 15 mins, especially when they looked into the camera at the end, had me feeling really emotional.
Unfortunatley I suspect this is happening in many towns and cities, as we have already seen. Institutional failure and reluctance to challenge certain issues due to political corectness. Somebodys whole life ruined by failure to act. Wheres Lily Allen and Gary Linekers PC tweets on this subject......
Rochdale police were prevented from investigating the illegal activities of Cyril Smith (with boys) under the Official Secrets Act. Jimmy Saville, Gary Glitter, and Rolf Harris also got away with it for years. Perhaps the problem is just the (in)actions of the police (and the other parties that should work in these areas) in these matters rather than political correctness.
Fair point that. Just makes you wonder what the hell is going on. Young peoples lifes ruined and counted for nothing whilst people get away with it and not challenged. As a dad with two young children it just scares me, other than family wheres the protection?
Read the story about Cyril Smith being stopped on the motorway. Enough 'evidence' to be arrested on the spot. He made a phone call and laughed at the arresting officer. Covered up by someone, and I don't think it was simply Parliamentary Privilege.
I'm finding this storyline on Coronation Street is a bit close to the bone. Yeah, I know it's fictional, but its a slow burner and goes into more detail in terms of how these evil sods work. Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
