What position in the league will be satisfactory by the end of September?

Personally I'd like to see us in the middle 8 of the league but I won't be sharpening the knives if we are in the bottom 3.

.... but when I asked you how your 'supporting' credentials stacked up, your answer was ...'they don't stack up'.

I think that does undermine your position to challenge my views on the state of the club and the current manager, but that aside, I'm not trying to be more 'correct' than you, I am expressing my opinion as you are, but it was you who decided to tell me that I am 'not a supporter' because my view differed from yours, when you clearly weren't in a position to say that

So again... sorry. You are a real fan. I wish I could be as dedicated as you I don't live in Barnsley but Simon Davey and Patrick Cryne have given me a real reason to be reasonably proud of the team.

I'm just amazed you can go to the lengths that you do to follow the reds - and then totally disbelieve anything the clubs says. It's as though you think Davey and Cryne want to take Barnsley down just to spite you.

Thanks for answering the question below. The only trouble with it is it gives you plenty of wriggle room in terms of "mid-table" does 12th count but not 14th? 4 decent signinds - again how do you define "decent". Decent prospect? Regular squad member? etc.

 

Apology accepted. The thing you don't understand is ...

...... you don't have to like or agree with everything the club does or says to be a 'proper' supporter.

I love following the reds and that's why I do it and they always get my vocal support at games, but I simply do not believe that this guy is up to the job. His record more or less supports that view.

His team selections and tactics are baffling, not some of the time, most of the time. His decision to put JCR in a free role last season nearly cost us our place in the Championship, when he had been one of the best wingers in the division up to Christmas, and he was too stubborn to put him back on the wing until we were desperately in the **** for the last 4 or 5 games. Also at that time he had Bogo on the wing, mifsud down the middle and Hammill on the bench, absolutely bizzare.

I'll not even go into the Kayode issue but every man and his dog can see the guy is not Championship standard, except Simon, who once again is stubbornly trying to prove he is right and everybody else is wrong.

To clarify what would appease me, anywhere from 8th from the bottom upwards. Four signings of Championship quality, not bothered who they are or what country they come from

The arguments for and against Davey run and run. My main feeling is this club needs stability. It's needed it since 1998 and it has never happened. We are much better taking a longer term view rather than reacting like the Geordies who even wanted ton get rid of Bobby Robson when he was in charge.
