I know when you are down to ten men and trying to hold on for a point you expect your side to engage in a little time wasting.... but for God’s sake there needs to be a little subtlety about it! Davies dropping to the floor like he had been shot every time he caught the ball was as counter-productive as it was cringeworthy. Being as blatant about it as he was just encourages the referee to add in extra minutes which are fatal for a team full of tired legs. I’d be surprised if at least half of the 5 minutes added time weren’t attributable to Davies and psychologically it was a blow for our players and a boost for their’s to see so many minutes go up on the board. Had it been 2 or 3 minutes instead we might have scraped a valuable point.

Personally, I can live with players taking the ball into the corner to run down the clock, but like blatant diving, what Davies was doing is not something I want to see from my team. I was embarrassed watching him.
