Today was the day I decided to "believe". I've thoroughly enjoyed this season. We've had entertaining attacking football, we've had wins and I've been entertained. However ... My inner cynic has said "We'll lose our best players in January's sales" ... "It's a purple patch, it'll end" ... But today (Not for the first time I should add) we utterly controlled the game. We didn't struggle at all and we looked capable of stepping up a gear if we needed to. I'll always have a bit of worry whilst Sunderland have games in hand but today at about 60 mins I thought ... this is it... f*ck it ... We're going up!! YOOOOOOUUUU REDDDDDDDDSSSSSSS
Nice post. My inner cynic says that summat will still go wrong. But today we were the kind of team that visits Oakwell on their way up. We can be so much better too.
Agree with this. I did think we don't have the depth in the squad for automatic but forget other teams are the same in this league. Look at Portsmouth. I'm questioning the commitment of my inner cynic.
I think this is stretching it a little. They have two games in hand over us and the goal difference isn't substantial. It's way too early to say that IMO. If we continue our form though I think we'll be ok.
I don’t think we’ll lose too many if we go up tbh. We’ll be in a better position to offer better contracts unless it’s similar to Hourihane where we hadn’t a cat in hells chsnce of matching Villas terms
Whatever league we are in I think the team will look much different next season to the one playing now. If we don't go up I can't see the likes of Moore and Pinnock having another season at this level.
S@ Agreed it's too early to say but if we win all our games we go up unless Sunderland better us by a couple of goals a match hence me saying that at the moment it's in our hands.
We have a great chance of automatic promotion and I’d love us to be champions as in 40 plus years of supporting the Reds that’s never happened. Sadly, I don’t see Luton slipping up as they have the easiest run in. We can definitely clinch second though which I’ll happily settle for. Obviously the Sunderland and Pompey games will be key to that. If we can go up and hold on to our better players we should be able to compete at the next level I reckon. If we don’t go up the squad could be decimated. Big 16 games to come.....
